All you need is love... and

BRIDE & GROOM: Michelle O’Brien and Colin Nikel

WEDDING DATE: October 27th, 2018

CEREMONY: Abraham Erb’s Grist Mill (waterloo.ca) Waterloo, ON

RECEPTION: THEMUSEUM (♥) (themuseum.ca) Kitchener, ON “We chose this location because it is such a unique venue with so much to offer! We had an event there a year ago (TacoFest) and I just remember being so in awe of the space – the high, lofty ceilings, the amazing acoustics in the main hall, and of course the interactive exhibits! Our guests had so much fun exploring the second floor and playing with the floor piano, the pin wall and the graffiti wall!” – M

PHOTOGRAPHY: Chasing Moments Photography (chasingmoments.ca) Waterloo, ON “When we first met Supriya we just clicked! She has a way of making you feel at ease when being photographed (even in public!). My favourite part of our photos was the getting ready session. Supriya came to the hotel room where the girls were getting ready before the ceremony. It was just so comforting to be together and goofing around, taking pictures and keeping my mind off the nerves of the upcoming big moment!” – M

THEME: “Our colours were burgundy (more like a deep red/garnet), blush and gold while our theme was modern romantic with some classic elements (like the gold accents), very much inspired by the vintage-y look of the wedding dress and by the colour of the groomsmen’s suits – which were a deep red/ burgundy colour. We wanted something different from the classic black or grey suits. When we saw these red suits, I suggested Colin try it on (which he did rather reluctantly lol) but once it was on, he loved it! Burgundy is such a great fall colour, and paired so well with the girls in blush!” – M

# GUESTS: 118

BUDGET: $22,500

FLOWERS: Chessy Pottage, a family friend.

DIY: “The décor was all DIY. With lots of help from the bridesmaids, my mom, and my brother’s fiancée – we put together some beautiful table arrangements! We found some unique vases and display items at HomeSense, and some more wedding decorations (table numbers, tealight holders, charger plates) at Michael’s. Burgundy gauze fabric for the table runners was purchased on fabric.com. The centerpiece containers were found at Len’s Mill Store. (They only cost $0.99 for 3!! Great find!) We spray-painted them gold.” – M
