TELL US YOUR STORY: “We were unsure if we were going to even have a wedding amidst COVID, but decided that at the end of the day, it was about our love story and commitment to each other. And we are so so happy that we did! We ended up doing the ceremony with our two best friends while the rest of our friends and family watched over Zoom. We had quite the fairytale romance! I was introduced to Trevor through my best friend Lauren in Ontario (I live in British Columbia) and we met for the first time on December 12th. Two weeks (and one missed flight home later) we were engaged! I picked up my life to move to Ontario for 4 months while he ran his Osteopathy practice. 44 has always had a special meaning to us, so we knew we wanted to get married on 04/04/2020. It was such a magical day albeit simple! We did the ceremony on Lauren’s balcony – and she gave a speech at the beginning which moved us all to tears. We danced until sunset, and then our wedding reception dinner was Thai food from Skip the Dishes!” – T

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “Coming to terms with the fact that our family couldn’t be there. I always envisioned my Dad walking me down the aisle, and getting ready with my sister, mom, and girlfriends!
It took me a while to be okay with the fact that they wouldn’t all be there, as well as Trevor’s family. We had a whole weekend event planned previously with renting an Airbnb and getting all the families together. Our parents haven’t even met yet and we’ve been married for 8 months now!” – T

BEST MEMORY: “The surprise video my friends and family made for us – it was people from all over the world lip-syncing to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Definitely made me cry!” – T

ADVICE, ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “Just keep it simple – focus on the two of you and your life together. The day is just a tiny part of the big picture. In the end, I’m so so glad we did it with just two friends and got to focus on each other all day.” – T
