We were attracted to the post and beam construction and the cathedral ceilings with the reclaimed wood floors and fireplace. The rustic feel with modern conveniences fit perfectly with our fall themed candlelit ceremony.” L&M

THEME: “Our overall theme was a multitude of fall colours incorporating lanterns. The lantern theme was inspired by the surprise engagement party thrown a year before the wedding for us by very close family friends who included Leanne’s 17 year old son Jacob in the overall organizing. It included both of our blended families, as well as friends who travelled to be part of the surprise each bringing a different lantern. We didn’t want the typical pumpkins and mums but rather airy, dusted eucalyptus, flowing foliage, and warm autumn colours.” – M

DIY: ” We took on many projects for the ceremony and reception. Leanne organized and decorated the lanterns for the table centerpieces as well as the lanterns and decorations for the fireplace mantel and the guest sign in table. Leanne’s mother created all of the florals. I made the wooden planter urns and Leanne stained them. Together we drove out to the country and cut down the red branches and decorated them with lights. We repurposed an old window frame that was given to us using black panels to write the seating chart on.” – M
