Elizabeth and Alexander wanted their guests to have fun but also to get a calming feeling from their wedding. They accomplished this with an earthy and natural wedding theme. Their florals included eucalyptus, white roses and baby’s breath and it all added the calming a natural feeling they wanted.
COUPLE: Elizabeth & Alexander
WEDDING DATE: June 3, 2023
GUEST #: 130
CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: Best Western PLUS Stoneridge Inn & Conference Centre and The Rose Chapel
“Our goal was to have the ceremony and reception all in one place, so choosing Stoneridge Inn was a no-brainer. We were blown away by the quaint, stain-glassed chapel and loved the idea that people could just walk over to the reception hall afterwards. Convenience was key for us and our guests! Natalie and Abby were fantastic to work with; they were accommodating, patient, and helpful throughout the whole planning process.” – E
PHOTOGRAPHER: Lydia from LR Studios “We stumbled upon Lydia’s Instagram and were completely in awe of her work. After our first meeting, we were sold. Lydia made us feel comfortable and at ease, and she was extremely accommodating, organized, and patient. She’s wildly talented and not to mention super hilarious, which made our engagement and wedding sessions relaxed and a lot of fun! She was the perfect choice to capture our earthy and natural wedding.” – E
TELL US YOUR STORY
“We met at a mutual friend’s holiday party in 2017. I approached Alex at the snack table, wearing my “Single and Ready to Jingle” sweater. We then started dating long-ish distance between London and Hamilton, until moving in together in Hamilton in 2019. Fast forward to November 2021, where Alex proposed at the wine bar where we went on our first date. Now, we live in London together with our small poodle named Onyx!” – E
COLOUR PALETTE: “The overarching theme for our wedding day centered around elements of greenery, earthiness, calmness, and natural colours. For the florals, we chose eucalyptus, white roses, and baby’s breath. These were present throughout our day, from the bouquets to the reception and chapel decor.” – E
CAKE: “Alex’s mom baked our 3-tier cake, which was really special!” – E
DECOR: Tulle Tyme
FLORAL: Gammage Flowers
BRIDE’S ATTIRE: Ballett’s Bridal
BRIDESMAIDS ATTIRE: David’s Bridal
DJ: AK Productions
HAIR & MAKE-UP: LDNMUA
BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “The biggest challenge we faced was ensuring that we could engage and acknowledge each guest personally throughout the day. Despite the business of the day, our priority was making sure that we visited each table during the reception to say hello and thank our guests for celebrating with us.” – E
FAVOURITE MEMORY: “How do we choose!? The whole day was perfect, but our favourite memory was our loved one’s speeches. Needless to say, we cried and laughed a lot!” – E
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “Prioritize what matters to you as a couple. Allocate time and resources to aspects of the wedding that reflect your values, and make your day uniquely yours!”- E
