DETAILS: “Our goal in this wedding was really to bring together two cultures. We did not want two different ceremonies or receptions but wanted both to merge together into one. I wore a white dress, but had mehndi done on my hands and feet, wore Indian jewelry and bangles and an Indian dupatta (shawl). I made a ribbon out of my mother’s wedding dress, which was wrapped around my flowers. We had a friend of the family lead the civil ceremony, which was both in French and English, and Amar’s uncle led the Indian ceremony, which flowed into each other nicely.” – P

BEST MEMORY: “My favourite part was seeing Amar arrive on a horse! He was led by a drummer and all of his friends and family. I was tucked away in a small cottage so that he wouldn’t see me, but I was able to peek out the window and see him come in.” – P

ADVICE, ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “Focus on the parts that are the most important to you as a couple – what you want the day to say about you and represent about your relationship and union. There are so many small details that don’t matter much at the end of the day.” – P & A
