Nice and simple is best at Cambridge Mill | Erica & Mike

Cambridge Mill (cambridgemill.ca) was the perfect backdrop for Erica and Mike to say their I do’s. With simple décor and Gary Evans Photography (gary-evans.ca) there to capture every moment, they were able to make the day their very own…

Bride & Groom: Erica Poirier & Mike Tudisco

Wedding Date: March 29, 2019

Ceremony & Reception Location: The Cambridge Mill (cambridgemill.ca) “We chose Cambridge Mill because of their excellent reputation for flawless weddings. From coordination to food, they think of everything and they make the whole process of planning very easy.” – E&M

Colour Palette: Spring colours like rose, white, light purple and gold.

Theme: “We didn’t really have a theme for the wedding day, other than making everything look nice and simple.” – E

Flowers:Frey’s Flowers (freysflowers.com) did all of our centerpieces, bouquets and boutonnieres/corsages. I really like roses so Karyn incorporated a nice blush rose in most of the arrangements, complemented by white flowers and greenery.” – E

Décor: “Melanie Monteiro of Couture Weddings (cwbymelanie.com) did most of our décor. She set up our dessert table with platters for the cookies, and also provided our beautiful glass card box. She was amazing, and we really didn’t need to worry about anything day-of with her help.” – E&M

Fav décor element: “I don’t think I could pick a single element. It was just really amazing to see how everything finally came together and ended up looking so good. I did really like our signing board (in lieu of a guestbook) that we had made by Spring Meadow Co. (etsy.com/ca/shop/SpringMeadowCo). They’re on Etsy but they also have a stall in the St. Jacob’s Farmer’s Market. Everything they make is beautiful.” – E

Cake: “Instead of the traditional wedding cake, we had cookies made in the shape of our cat’s face (because everyone knows how important he is to us) by Brandt Cookies (brantcookies.com). Not only did they look amazing, but they were also delicious! We did also have a beautiful smaller cake for the cake cutting made by Melanie Monteiro at Couture Weddings.” – E

Invitations/Stationery: Dre Designs

Groomsmen and Groom’s attire: “Mike’s suit was custom made by King & Bay (mykingandbay.com) located in Toronto, and the groomsmen’s suits were from various stores.” – E

Bridesmaids attire and accessories: “Most of the bridesmaids bought their dresses from Boutique 1861 (1861.ca), my bridesman had his suit made by Indochino (indochino.com).” – E

Bride’s dress and accessories: The Modern Bride (tmodernbride.com)

Band: DCF Music (dcfweddingmusic.com) “They put on a great show, all our guests were having a great time watching and dancing to the band’s music. ” – E

Hair: Savija Ellis Hair (hairbysavija.com) “Savija Ellis was one of the few hairstylists in the area I found who was willing to travel to our location which was a huge help in keeping the timeline for the day. Not to mention, she does beautiful work and was so easy to communicate with.” – E

Wedding Planner: “Shannon Cousineau of Cambridge Mill, as well as Melanie Monterio of Couture Weddings for Day-Of Coordination & Set-up” – E

Photographer: Gary Evans Photography (gary-evans.ca) “We met Gary Evans at a wedding show and ended up winning the grand prize. After viewing his portfolio we knew we couldn’t go with anyone else. Working with Gary and Kim was so easy. Both Mike and I hate having our pictures taken but they put us at ease and the pictures turned out fantastic. Our favourite part of the photos is the creativity that they put into each shot. We have some really unique wedding photos and we love looking through them all. They were really able to capture the essence of the whole day, from start to finish.” – E&M

Biggest challenge: “The biggest challenge was probably the guest list. We did our best to include as many people as we could without it being overwhelming, but it’s definitely a difficult task for any couple.” – E

Fav wedding memory: “Just the whole day really. Between the Cambridge Mill, and our friends and family, everything seemed to go so smoothly and we weren’t stressed out or being pulled away to problem solve at any point. We were really able to enjoy the party and catch up with all of our guests, thanks to the Cambridge Mill’s amazing coordination team.” – E&M

Advice from one couple to another: “Read reviews for all your vendors! It really helped us when trying to decide who to go with. Also, enjoy the day together as much as you can, it goes by so quickly!” – E&M
