All you need is love... and

Two dresses, a tea ceremony and two cultures came together to create a day that Annie and Shawn will never forget. Bringing in aspects of Annie’s culture was important to the two of them and they were able to blend both cultures beautifully. HRM Photography (hrmphotography.com) was able to capture all the love these two have for each other and help them create lasting memories…

Bride & Groom: Annie Lam & Shawn Feeney

Wedding Date:  September 15th, 2018

Ceremony & Reception Location: RiverBend Golf Community (riverbendgolf.com), London ON.

“Riverbend had everything we were looking for in a venue; a modern interior, outdoor ceremony location, beautiful scenery for pictures, excellent food, and customized wedding packages, a win-win!” – A&S

Colour Palette: Red, White, Black and Grey

Theme: “Modern Elegance with Asian Accents. Every aspect had to compliment the overall theme and we accented details, including dresses and décor, to highlight my culture” – A

Flowers: “We had red roses from Samirah at Designs in Bloom (facebook.com/designsinbloom.ca)” – A

Décor: To Suit Your Fancy (tosuityourfancy.com). “The highlight was lanterns for our dinner reception, an Asian Accent.” – A&S

Fav décor element: “The incredible centerpieces, a combination of décor and flowers. We received so many compliments, they were stunning! Samirah at Designs in Bloom has a fabulous eye for detail. We witnessed their assembly, a timely process requiring delicate care. Sometimes the greatest detail isn’t material at all; it comes from the reassurance that we are cared for and in good hands.” – A&S

DIY: “Does learning to dance count? How about driving to meet this vendor, that vendor? 🙂 Designing invitations perhaps? Planning a wedding seems like a complete DIY project; ours was just more of a “Do It Together” project. Every aspect was decided and accomplished together. Now that it’s past, we really can’t think of a better way to prepare us for marriage.” – A

Photographer: HRM Photography (hrmphotography.com) “From day one we knew we wanted Heather at HRM Photography for the most special day of our lives. She seemed to have the unique ability to beautifully capture the magical moments that we knew we would treasure forever. With a quality first approach, the vast quantity and variety gave us all the memories we were looking for, many of which we didn’t witness firsthand.” – A&S

Biggest challenge: “Distance was our biggest challenge. We live in the GTA and our wedding and vendors were in London. We think and feel like we live in an internet world, where everything and everyone is an e-mail or FaceTime away. However, for such an intimate and sensitive celebration, in-person meetings were a must. It was challenging, but challenge accepted. These were our choices and we had to accept them. If it required multiple meetings per day, or 3 trips to London a week, we just had to accept it and move forward.” – A&S

Fav wedding memory: “Our first dance. Not for what it was on our wedding day, but for what it represents in our wedding journey. We picked our song, we hired a professional, we took lessons, we learned how to dance. We practice in parking lots. We practiced in soccer fields. We practiced beside our hotel pool the morning of our wedding. We did this all together. Now, maybe the song wasn’t the greatest for dance, perhaps the routine didn’t bring tears to eyes, but on our wedding day, together, our first dance was perfect!” – A&S

Advice from one couple to another: “Live in the MOMENT! Whatever it is your planning today might be your favorite memory tomorrow. Live in the MOMENT, create those memories today!” – A&S
