From a teenage romance that began while working together at FreshCo to a sunset proposal on the shores of Sauble Beach, Cailyn and Joey's love story came full circle with a heartfelt Grey Silo Golf Course wedding. Surrounded by 75 of their closest family and friends, the couple created a celebration that perfectly blended rustic elegance with meaningful personal touches. Handmade décor, romantic live flamenco guitar music, a fully vegan menu crafted especially for their guests, and unforgettable sunset portraits made their wedding day feel uniquely their own. Every detail reflected the couple's values, proving that the most memorable celebrations are the ones that stay true to the people at the heart of them.
COUPLE: Cailyn & Joey
WEDDING DATE: June 7, 2025
GUEST #: 75
WEDDING CEREMONY & RECEPTION: Grey Silo Golf Course
PHOTOGRAPHER: Taylor Jackson Photography
WEDDING THEME: "The theme was rustic elegance. We fell in love with the Timber room at Grey Silo and knew that we didn't need a ton of decor to make the space feel special. We focused on bringing in some faux greenery, hurricane vases with floating candles, a wine barrel, and wood signage. I started collecting items early from Facebook marketplace, and thrift stores. We also made some items like our wedding signage, wood cookies for the table centerpieces, and our card box. The only real florals we had were for the wedding party, and the rest were faux white roses. I also wanted my bridesmaid dresses to be slightly different, so we went with 2 in chiffon and 2 in silk, which added some interest. Joey's suit was plaid, and he picked a floral tie that was really stunning." - C
THE WEDDING DAY: "Our wedding day was so perfect. The bridal party stayed overnight at my friend's, and they surprised me with a stunning buffet breakfast. Joey wrote me and all my bridesmaids a letter to read the morning of! The groomsmen rented an Airbnb and got ready there the morning of. My dad surprised us with a pickup from a hippy Volkswagen bus, something that I've always wanted to own! We had Juneyt play the guitar when we walked down the aisle which was so special. We have seen him play many times at restaurants, and his flamenco guitar playing is the most romantic music in the world.
Joey's grandma brought us the rings. After the ceremony, we kept our photography session minimal so we could enjoy the rest of cocktail hour with our guests! The dinner was very important to us since we are vegan and wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed the food. Grey Silo made some custom dishes for us that were amazing! Everyone went for seconds, and some guests didn't even realize it was vegan! Samantha at Grey Silo made sure we got to try all the appetizers, and had our dessert waiting for us at our seats.
We didn't have to watch the clock or worry about the schedule once. We got some amazing sunset photos and watched deer graze in the lawn. We had a choreographed first dance and a group dance, which was a hit! My sister got a moment for a first dance with our dad, since her wedding was during Covid. Juneyt and his band were fabulous. One member was sick and could not make it, so he had a backup who was a washboard player, and the party was unstoppable. At the end of the night, we were jumping by the DJ station until we had to leave!" - C
TELL US YOUR STORY: "We met when we were 16 and we both worked at FreshCo! I would switch my shifts so I could work with him more often and we would play pranks and goof around all the time. Joey proposed on our 6 year anniversary at the sunset in Sauble Beach." - C

GROOM & GROOMSMEN'S ATTIRE: Moore's Clothing for Men

MAKE-UP: LaurenJen Makeup
CHEROGRAPHER: TenC Dance Co. (first dance choreography, highly recommend!)

FAVOURITE MEMORY: "Our favourite memory was taking little moments to hold each other's hands and take in the moment. I strongly remember starting our first dance and looking up at the soft white lights, practicing our dance one last time in a quiet corner, decorating our cake in the great room before dinner, listening to the heartfelt speeches, and dancing barefoot to a live band for hours." - C
BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "A big challenge for us was our strict guest list of 75 to stay on budget, and having a fully vegan wedding. We were often pressured to invite more people, and some guests were not understanding of the vegan menu." - C
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: "At the end of day, you will never please everyone! Make sure that every decision puts you and your husband first, and that's all that matters." - C&J
