All you need is love... and

We love sharing weddings that perfectly reflect a couple’s story, and Aniela & Andrew’s celebration is a beautiful example of just that. After spending several years out west in Vancouver, they chose to return to their roots in Southern Ontario to tie the knot. Surrounded by loved ones and set against the picturesque backdrop of a rustic farm-style venue. Their wedding at The Barn at Exeter Golf Club combined heartfelt moments, thoughtful details, and the relaxed charm of country elegance, making it a day to remember from start to finish.

COUPLE: Aniela & Andrew

DATE: May 4, 2024

GUEST #: 140

CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: The Barn at Exeter Golf Club “After spending the past 4 years living in Vancouver, British Columbia we knew we wanted to get married with our friends and family present at a venue near our original roots in Southern Ontario.

We had both always envisioned a farm style venue for our wedding. When we took a tour of The Barn at Exeter Golf Club it was an instant yes from both of us. The rustic barn setting with the combination of the venue also being a golf course led to it being the perfect setting for a wedding. Very well manicured lawns and outdoor spaces with the charm of an old style bank barn.. there was really nothing not to love.

Everything from the fantastic food, the polite staff and how the entire day played out was perfect. Emily, the day of co-ordinator at The Barn could not have done a better job making sure everything ran on time. Behind the scenes Emily made sure we were fed, hydrated and happy throughout the day.

The guest house on the property was the icing on the cake for this venue. We were able to house our wedding party the night before and the night of the wedding. There was plenty of room for both bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready separately. The guest house being at the venue really made for a relaxing fun get ready morning that would have been more rushed otherwise. We were able to enjoy a nice breakfast together and then send the guys away golfing for the morning.

Overall we could not recommend checking out this venue more and seeing everything it has to offer. They did such a great job!” – Aniela

PHOTOGRAPHER: Taylor Marx Photo “We first booked an engagement shoot with Taylor and she was beyond professional. Taylor gave us so many prompts and you could tell she was so confident in her work. Feeding off of her confidence I was really looking forward to her doing our wedding and she really nailed it.

Her turn around time for photos was crazy fast. The editing was spot on and how she controlled the room/ party/prompts for all our photos was perfect. She is young, bubbly and friendly. We couldn’t recommend her enough for engagement and wedding photos.” – Aniela

COLOUR PALETTE: “We tried to go with as natural of a colour palette as possible. Sage green, dark green, whites, and natural wood. Our overall theme was just celebration and unity with friends and family. We really just wanted a fun, relaxing wedding day and The Barn did such a great job helping us achieve just that.” – Aniela

TELL US YOUR STORY: “Our story is a bit of a fun one! We met shortly after New Years 2021. Everything was so easy, and instantly felt like each-others safe home space. It was such a sigh of relief to have finally met someone just completely on each-other’s wave lengths. We both wanted a big family, a slower lifestyle and someone to grow old peacefully with. So everything felt so easy. Until 3 months in when Andrew dropped the bomb that he was offered a job with a large company in Vancouver, and would be starting in 1 month if he was to accept the position.

Andrew left April 2021 and I moved in 6 months later in October. We each brought a dog into the relationship initially. Our first year was spent back country camping and heading frequently on mountain adventures with our dogs.

We got engaged to a beautiful sunset in Stanley Park in Vancouver in 2022. Then we welcomed our beautiful daughter in 2023. Our wedding was planned for May 2024, so I was very lucky to have a maternity leave wedding planning extravaganza. We spent our 4 years in BC exploring the mountains and working really hard.

In May of last year, we drove across Canada to get married. Then shortly after we moved to a small Homestead in Central Alberta. We have decided to plant our roots here and have another baby joining our family in the next few months. I wouldn’t change the timeline of our journey or all the fun we have had together for the world.” – Aniela

FLORALS: Time4Flowers

DJ: Music Central

HAIR & MAKE-UP: Top Knots & Gloss Artistry

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “The only challenge of our day and one thing we didn’t think of was what to do with our fathers the morning of the wedding. Sorry dads, but I’m not even really sure what they got up to! In retrospect, they should have been given a designated task.” – Aniela

BEST MEMORY: “Our best memory of the entire day was watching our friends and family sit and eat together at our family style dinner. Since we had been living on the other side of the country for 4 years, a lot of our family hadn’t even met each other.

We chose to do a family style meal with two long tables that ran from one end to the other in the barn, with the head table across one of the ends to join everything. We were able to look straight down the two rows and watch some of our closest friends and family enjoy their meals while talking and laughing.” -Aniela

ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: “My biggest advice is to try to find vendors that give questionnaires. Everyone from the Exeter Golf Club venue, to our DJ, Officiant, Photographer all had questionnaires for how the day would pan out. They know exactly how weddings run, it’s their job, so find ones that give you layouts, timelines, ideas and it will make your life 100 x easier when you have so many different thoughts to juggle the combination of all the plans will help the master plan just fall into place.” – Aniela
