Bruna and Gabi’s Royal Ambassador wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, family, and the little moments that make a relationship special. Both originally from Brazil, the couple’s love story began unexpectedly in Canada when they found themselves at the same Brazilian Forró dance class. One conversation turned into a connection neither wanted to end, and before long, they were building a life together. After two heartfelt proposals that brought their story full circle on the dance floor, they gathered 45 of their closest family and friends at the Royal Ambassador in Ontario to celebrate their marriage. Inspired by their love of nature, the day featured soft shades of sage green, dusty blue, and white, with thoughtful handmade details throughout. From DIY décor and family-made bouquets to choreographed dances and a lively Brazilian-inspired reception, every part of the celebration reflected who Bruna and Gabi are together. Most importantly, it was a chance to bring their families together and celebrate a love that had travelled across continents to find its home.

PHOTOGRAPHY: DA Photography "We met Dragi at the Niagara Wedding Expo, hosted by the Wedding Ring back in March 2024. It was the first wedding related event we attended! We chose Dragi after coming to his booth and having him and his wife talk to us for about 30 min giving us so much attention and care. It was clear to us that he was very experienced and he absolutely loves what he does! This first impression was confirmed during our engagement photoshoot and at the day of our wedding. Dragi was thoughtful, caring and funny every single time we met. He transpired confidence and we felt at ease, not having to worry about anything. All our family members loved how he was interacting with them and the other professionals. I (Gabi) told him how it was important for me to have some pictures showing my late grandma's ring and Dragi came back after his contract time was done because we hadn't made those pictures and he said he could not leave without all requests being fulfilled. We loved that our photos showed exactly who we are, they are playful, caring and full of love. I don't think we would ever be able to be fully ourselves in those pictures without Dragi's kind words." - G&B
LOCATION: Royal Ambassador "We searched venues online and loved that they had a gazebo by a lake. Gabi and I are nature people and what we wanted for our big day was to be immersed in that type of scenario. They were the only venue we visited in person and we fell in love with the place instantly. Working with them was very smooth, everyone was very helpful before and on the day of our wedding." - B
COLOUR PALETTE: "White, sage green, and dusty blue. We wanted the same feel of nature from outside to be inside. We chose little wood slices as place cards and Gabi's mom wrote each one by hand." - B
TELL US YOUR STORY!: "I was heading to a salsa class and Bruna was taking care of a friend's cats. We both had other plans but ended up going to the same dance class (a Brazilian rhythm called Forro). We like to think destiny wanted us to meet that day. We talked so much that night...we went to a bar with the class folks, then to a karaoke place with fewer friends and the night only ended around 3am when Bruna gave me a ride home.
Bruna asked if I had already watched the movie "Encantao", to which I say "not yet". She said I had to let her know what I think about the movie after watching it and I said "sure, give me your number so I can text you and tell you". After the first text we never stopped talking to each other, we quickly became friends and later the friendship blossomed into a healthy and loving relationship.
A few months after meeting we moved in together - a stereotype for lesbian couples that we decided to abide to - and that's when we found out what companionship truly means. We tackle daily activities together, we take care of one another, we spend hours talking about everything and about nothing, and we keep growing alongside each other.
In 2023, Gabi proposed at the same place we met. Bruna's family was visiting us and I dragged everyone under the rain at night and gladly no one got a cold! In 2024, just a few months after, Bruna proposed at a Forro class and recreated the day we met. In 2025, we got married! It was absolutely perfect, every wedding detail was intentional and full of love. We both feel very lucky we found each other. It's funny to us that we are both from Brazil but ended up meeting her in Canada. We share very similar background stories and connect in deep ways.
Some of our fiends questioned why getting married was so important to us since we were already living together and basically 'married'. We wanted to celebrate our love with the ones we love, being able to share our story with them makes us so happy! And having both our families travel overseas and seeing them become one united family was everything to us. We would do everything over again! We are already very excited to have a vows renewal ceremony in a few years and a party after to dance all night." - G&B

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: "We planned the whole wedding ourselves, including decoration, Brazilian homemade sweets and our bouquets! We organized ourselves with an excel sheet that was used on a weekly basis for a year and a half! It was really stressful to make every single decision about every detail, but it certainly paid off. Every little thing was intentional and meaningful, and our guests noticed and told us "everything looks like you two". We were very lucky to have a participating family that helped us with preparations, those moments we shared were really precious. We set up 2 tables in our small living room so 10+ people could help baking, wrapping, decorating. We also had our moms and sisters help on creating our bouquets, which made them extra special." - G&B
BEST MEMORY: "Dancing! We had two dances we prepared that were choreographed by Gabi's former ballroom dance instructor, which we loved performing in front of all our guests. We also had the best time dancing all night with our families and friends. Our DJ was Brazilian and he dug out the old great hits you hear at a Brazilian wedding that have the funniest choreographies one would learn as a kid." - G&B
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: "Hire people you like and feel you can trust. Gut feeling should be listened to! On the day of your wedding you will have many big feelings, so it makes a difference to have professionals around you that you trust and can guide you through the day so you can focus on what is really important. Having a day of wedding planner also made a huge difference!" - G&B
