The Do’s and Dont’s of Wedding Makeup: Ensuring a Flawless Look on Your Special Day. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and looking your best is essential. Here are some essential DO’s and Dont’s for your wedding makeup for the day you say I DO!
Make sure your skin is well-prepped and hydrated. After you have cleansed, toned and moisturized your face apply a primer suited to your skin type to create a smooth base. This step ensures that your makeup lasts longer and looks more even.
A makeup blender, such as the new Vegan Beauty Blender, is the game-changer for achieving a seamless airbrushed finish. For foundation, apply a small amount to the back of your hand or metal palette then press the sponge into the product. Use the round end for larger areas of your face, and the pointed tip for precision around the smaller areas like eyes and nose. May we suggest the Vegan Beauty Blender By Lindsay Scarfone Makeup
Choose long-lasting, waterproof products to ensure your makeup stays for an all night look. This is especially important for foundation.
Schedule a trial run with your makeup artist well before the wedding day. This allows you to test different looks and ensure you’re happy with the result, or anything you wish to change. Bring pictures of makeup styles you like to help convey your dream look.
Avoid trying new makeup products or techniques on your wedding day, or even the week leading up to your day. Stick with what you know and what works for your skin type and tone to avoid any unexpected reactions or mishaps.
Less is often more. Heavy makeup can look cakey and unnatural, especially in photos. Aim for a look that enhances your natural beauty rather than masking it.
A setting spray is crucial for locking in your makeup and ensuring it lasts all day. It also helps to reduce shine and keeps your makeup looking fresh. We love Urban DecayAll Nighter Vitamin C Hydrating Setting Spray.
Make sure your foundation and powder blend seamlessly from your face to your neck. This ensures a consistent and natural look, avoiding any harsh lines.
Bonus: Did you know that the beauty blender isn’t just for makeup? You can also use it to apply your skincare products. The sponge can help evenly distribute serums, moisturizers, and even sunscreen, ensuring that your skin gets the full benefit of each product. Some may choose to apply a tinted SPF with their beauty blender as this will give the most ‘Au Natural’ look, a great look for our summer weddings all while protecting your skin!
By following these Do’s and Dont’s you’ll ensure your wedding makeup is flawless and enhances your natural beauty, making you look and feel radiant on your special day. Happy planning!
