This intimate Schomberg wedding shows that sometimes the best love stories begin with something as simple as a cup of coffee. For Daisy and Tom, a chance encounter during the pandemic turned into an unexpected connection, a first date over a picnic and, eventually, a life built together. Nearly five years after that first coffee-shop meeting, the couple celebrated their love with an intimate August wedding at a private country estate in Schomberg, surrounded by 65 family members and friends. With a vintage sage green, gold and off-white palette, their four children standing beside them as Best Men and Maids of Honour, and a surprise performance by Daisy’s favourite Portuguese entertainer, their wedding was filled with personal touches, meaningful moments and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

COLOUR PALETTE: "Our colour palette was a vintage sage green, gold and off white. Both our Birthdays are also in August, our wedding month so having our birthstone colour as part of our wedding palette was very special & fitting."
TELL US YOUR STORY!: Five years ago, while waiting for our coffee order, somehow our paths crossed, and we both found our forever love somehow.
It was during Covid, October 17th, 2020. We were both wearing masks, standing a safe distance apart, cautious, and keep in mind that at that time neither of us were looking for a relationship. In face, we had both quietly accepted that we might just spend the rest of our lives along. Then something neither one of us expected happened...our coffee orders were called.
Standing side by side, the barista turned to us and said, "A cafe mocha and a medium decaf - are these together or separate?"
After a second, with only Daisy and I in the coffee shop I said, "Together, obviously...why? Don't we look like a couple?"
That made Daisy laugh, I was captivated by her big fawn eyes. When, I asked the barista, "Don't we make a nice couple?", after an awkward 'sure', and a few more laughs, I assured Daisy that I was just having fun and insisted on paying for both coffee and invited her to join me outside - but if not to simply enjoy the rest of her day.
To my surprise she actually came outside and joined me.
Forty minutes later after getting to know now another briefly, I gave her my card and told her is she was up for another coffee, I'd like to see her again. We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. But I couldn't get Daisy off my mind. The next morning I texted Daisy, her reply, "Is everything okay?", I told her I couldn't get her out of my mind, here response - "me too".
I asked her if she was available the following weekend for a picnic and she quickly said 'yes'. The next weekend we met again, there were those big fawn eyes and the most beautiful smile I had remembered. Our day was so comfortable, talking about everything from our kids, to work to our families, we didn't want the day to end so we planned to do it again the following day.
Since that picnic weekend, Daisy and I have spent the last five years building a life together - renovating a home, blending our families and planning the most important day of our lives, Our wedding day.
Two years after that coffee shot encounter, I proposed on New Year's Eve in front of Daisy's family. Two years after that, surrounded by family and friends at a private country estate, with our four children proudly standing beside us, we become Mr. and Mrs. Brown.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge when it came to planning our wedding was trying to course good vendors in under a years time of our wedding date. We tackled it by setting the necessary time aside to interview numerous vendors in order to secure our selection. Plus we had incredible help and support from our day of coordinator Angela. Could not have done it without her.
BEST MEMORY: "The best memories of our wedding was truly being able to stay in the moment on our day. The only way this was made possible was to have the absolute most incredible day of coordinator, Angela, who took on every single detail and challenge of our day right down to helping to get the groomsmen put together to picking up a new vow book and writing the grooms vows in it all because he forgot his vows at home.
Secondly, Tom surprising me with a performance by Tony Camara, a Portuguese singer who my family has followed for years. Tony showed up and performed an hours worth or songs making a memorable night."
ADVICE FROM ONE COUPLE TO ANOTHER: "We have two pieces of advice: Have a day of coordinator who will go the extra 10 miles to be sure nobody comes to you with a single question. Someone who will make sure you have time to catch your breath and truly enjoy your day.
Secondly, plan every detail of your wedding together as a couple. It will be much more special on the day of when you both see every detail you have chosen come to life."
