Ceremony & Reception Location: Madsen’s Greenhouse Banquet & Chapel (madsens.ca)

“The venue was so different than anything we had seen. We fell in love with the chapel space the second we saw it. The lush greenery and twinkle lights throughout the venue was the perfect backdrop to all of our décor. It felt like the perfect combination of fun and elegance.  The owners of the venue were also the most easy going and fun couple to work with.”  A&E

Colours: Blush, Burgundy, Gold, White, Green, Black

Theme: “I would say our wedding theme was a romantic fairy garden. The twinkle from all of the string lights and candles we had on the tables combined with all the greenery and flowers made you feel like you were in an enchanted garden.” – E

Flowers: “Our flowers were provided by Ital Florist (italflorist.com) and designed by Henrietta White. Henrietta used all of our colours (pale pink, white, lush greenery, and deep burgundy) The flowers were a mixture of roses and ranunculus with tons of gorgeous greenery.” – E

Décor: “We did all of the décor ourselves with the exception of the head table backdrop which was provided by Pearl Décor & Events (pearldecor.com). Candice Cole was the most amazing vendor. She even made a last-minute drop in the night before the wedding to help us set up the backdrop.” – E

Fav décor element: “Oh wow! I don’t know if I can choose a favourite, I loved them all. I think some of my favourites would have to be our gorgeous flowers, our fun donut wall which was accented by our delicious wedding cake. Our LOVE marquee sign. Our memory wall with pictures of all of our grandparents and parents.” – E

DIY: “I was very eager to try as many DIYs as we could and fortunately they all turned out so well. We spray painted and “mercury glassed” all of the mason jars we had lining the ceremony aisle. We also made the ceremony backdrop from PVC pipe and curtains from Ikea. We made a “memory wall” from barn board purchased from home depot and used fun door knobs as hangers for pictures of our grandparents and parents on their wedding day. Each picture was hanging from a different frame with burgundy ribbon hanging on the door knobs. This project was so special and an amazing way to honour our grandparents who had passed. Our LOVE marquee sign was made for us by our amazing Best Man. We purchased the string lights for him and he made the sign from plywood and painted them white. The sign was the perfect anchor to the large reception room. All of our guests loved taking pictures in front of the sign.” – A&E

Invitations/stationery:  Vistaprint (vistaprint.ca)

Cake: “Our cake was done by my amazingly talented cousin. She owns and runs her own company called Baked by Erin (bakedbyerin.ca). She created us the most gorgeous naked cake with a pale pink ganache drip. It tasted just as amazing as it looked.” – A&E

Wedding favours: “Our wedding favours were little jars of peach jam. This was so fun and special to make. Myself, my mom, and my grandma spent the day making 150 of these in my mom’s kitchen. It was definitely an afternoon I will never forget.” – E

Groomsmen and Groom’s attire: “All of the groom and groomsmen tuxedos were provided by Moores Clothing for Men (mooresclothing.com). Andrew my husband had a custom tux made for him with our wedding date and an inscription “forever” inside the jacket. He also had a really fun mauve lining added to the inside of his tuxedo jacket.” – E

Bridesmaids attire and accessories: “All of my bridesmaids wore Bill Levkoff dresses in the colour “shell pink”. They all choose their own style of dress and purchased the dresses from a store nearest to them. The stores they purchased from were Avenue 22 (avenue22.ca) | Belo Fashions Boutique (belofashionsboutique.com) | Antoinette’s Bridal (antoinettebridal.ca) | Sew Stylish Wedding Works (sewstylishweddingworks.com). They all wore their own jewelry and accessories.” – E

Bride’s dress and accessories: “I purchased my dress, veil, and earrings from David’s Bridal (davidsbridal.ca) in Scarborough.” – E

DJ: Dynamic Music Solutions (dynamicmusicsolutions.com) “Steve Watson was our DJ and was absolutely incredible. From the start of the reception until the very last song of the night our dance floor was never empty.” – A&E

Hair & make-up: Lavish Flair (lavishflair.com) “The team of hair and makeup came to my parent’s house in the morning and were an absolute dream come true. The owner Katherine Torrez made myself and all of the bridesmaids feel so at ease and captured everything we wanted perfectly. I couldn’t image our day without them. – E

Catering:O’Malley’s Catering (omalleyscatering.com) in Newmarket provided all of the delicious food and beautiful table linens. Their staff that night went above and beyond. We brought in our own donuts from Tim Hortons and they replenished all of the donuts on the donut wall. We also had a late-night table from McDonalds which they put into chaffing dishes for us.” – A&E

Photographer: Emily B Photography (emilybphotography.org)

“After speaking to a few different photographers nothing felt as easy and comfortable as it did when we spoke to Emily. Her style of photography is so beautiful and effortless we knew we couldn’t miss the opportunity to have her shoot the wedding.I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Emily. Andrew and I are both very quiet and timid people and have never been a fan of having our pictures taken. I can honestly say that the thought of having my picture taken that many times was something I was dreading about the wedding. Emily made us feel so comfortable and at ease I enjoyed every single shot she took. She was so efficient and organized we flew through the long list of family pictures we gave her. She was an absolute dream to work with and I will forever recommend her to anyone getting married. We will never be able to thank her enough for everything she did that day.” – A&E

Biggest challenge: “The biggest challenge I would say was trying not to get too stressed or overwhelmed with the planning. I tried my best to stay organized and had the most amazing supportive family and wedding party who were always so eager to help out.” – E

Fav wedding memory: “I don’t think I can choose just one. The entire day, start to finish was a dream come true. The love we felt for not only each other but for all of our guests was an indescribable feeling.” – E

Advice from one bride to another: “My advice for any couples planning their wedding is to enjoy it as much as possible. And to try and have as much done a month before the wedding. You want to enjoy every moment because it truly does fly by. Never be afraid to ask for help if it becomes stressful and to remember the love you have for your fiancé and how all of your guests are there to celebrate that not how well you can decorate a venue.” – E
