I understand that your wedding day is one of the most important chapters in your love story and I take it seriously (while still having fun). My mission is to beautifully capture the genuine emotions, intimate moments, and small details that make your day truly unique. On your wedding day, I become your best friend and don’t leave your side (not in a weird way). I look out for all sorts of things from hair ties on your wrist to getting a band-aid for that blister. At the end of the night, I’m always sad to say goodbye but I get to relive the day when I download your images. First of all, you’re not alone in thinking those thoughts. I hear that before every shoot. It doesn’t matter if it's an engagement shoot, headshots, or before family photos - doesn’t matter. “I’m so awkward, I don’t know how to pose? I don’t know what to do with my hands?” I’ve heard it all before. It is my job to set your nerves at ease. It is my job to pose you and your partner naturally and give every shot that effortless look while highlighting your love for each other. Keep in mind that every couple you see in my portfolio voiced to me in one way or another that they hate having their photo taken and that they aren’t a model. Yes, I didn’t agree with them and before reading this paragraph you didn’t see their “awkwardness” either. From the delicate lace on your dress to the joyful tears in your family's eyes, I pride myself on capturing the intricate details that often go unnoticed yet hold immense emotional value. I often compare myself to a secret agent (lol), sneakin’ around to get “the shot” - a cute moment between the couple or the kids playing or a teary-eyed grandma. This leads me to candid moments. I often hear, “Be sure to grab some candids of our guests”. Of course! Candids often hold the most genuine emotions. I keep my eyes peeled for “unscripted” moments that reveal the love, laughter, and connection between you and your loved ones. Every couple is unique and so is their story. I take the time to get to know you - your personalities, preferences, style, and why you fell in love to ensure that your photos reflect who you are as a couple.

HOW I INTERACT WITH YOU WHILE I PHOTOGRAPH

I completely understand when I hear people say “Oh I hate having my photo taken”, “I never know what to do with my hands”, “I hate my left side”…the list goes on. Trust me, I’ve heard it all before. I make this same point on every page of my website because I hear it so frequently! Trust me, I understand. Getting in front of a lens and not knowing what’s happening or how you’re looking on the other side can be a little scary. When you’re the subject of my camera lens you can put your worries to rest. My goal is to create a safe space for my subject(s).  It doesn’t matter if I’m shooting a wedding or corporate headshots. Once my subject(s) feel comfortable, cracking jokes and being a little silly… that’s when the genuine smiles come out. It makes the world of difference. I will also look out for you, make sure there are no flyaway hairs, no crooked ties, no hair elastics… I will make sure that everything is in order. This is not your elementary school photoshoot.
