Audrey Lupke (our cover bride!) and Barna Moricz are both actors by trade, playing roles in television and movie titles such as Papertrail and Killing Moon (Audrey), Jason X and Gilmore Girls (Barna). But it was the first scene they ever played together – one from Good Will Hunting, one of Barna’s past movies - that started off this couple’s love story. Barna fell in love with Audrey’s loving, understanding and giving personality. For Audrey, she loved that Barna is sweet and authentic. She says he has a good-natured soul. “I admire his youthful take on life, his creativity…”

Gabriela Alcalde and David Kinahan’s love story began in a high school calculus class when Gabriela asked Dave for help with her homework. Perhaps she truly needed help or perhaps there were ulterior motives at work. Either way, the two were soon inseparable and what started out as a sweet high school crush, now adds up to fourteen years together. And that was just their beginning.

A day filled with culture and class
August 22, 2009 :: Our Lady of Fatima Church & Oasis Convention Centre, Mississauga
Story by Carla @ The Ring
The summer of 2009 was a whirlwind of weddings that I went to and was a part of - four beautiful weddings of eight amazing friends of mine and Tony's (that's my boyfriend, in case you were wondering). I've always loved weddings, even before I found this dream job where I get to write about them, so even though it was super busy, it was also really fun. It's even more fun now that I'm on the inside of the wedding industry because I get to take note of all of the moments, details and unique ways that people personalize their weddings.

Whether it was fate or just sweet, romantic luck, Alicja and Ryan Kennedy ran into each other in Dominican Republic, even though they lived only five minutes apart in their home town. That meeting changed their lives forever. Four years later, on Christmas Even in 2007, Ryan proposed to Alicja and she said yes.
To choose their wedding date, they used a number of factors. They are both lovers of the outdoors (they spend a lot of time hiking in Waterloo together with their dogs) so the pair thought the colours of Fall would make for fantastic photos and a magical mood. "From the beginning of the planning process we wanted our wedding to be a venue for us to reflect our unique style and personality” explained Alicja. They also wanted to be able to give back to all of the friends and family who have made them the people they are today. "We wouldn’t be the couple we are without their support." So, they decided on Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.

Lesley Wong and Vince Foo met through a mutual friend, but it wasn’t until a couple of years later, on New Year’s Day in 2002, that they officially started dating.
Their first summer together was when Lesley first thought that their relationship could be something special. “We walked from my apartment near the Eaton Centre to Yonge and Eglinton and chatted the entire way there and back,” she told us. “We popped into the Art Shoppe on Yonge Street and looked at furniture together.”

Couples use Toronto's urban, contemporary backdrop for engagement shoots
This engaged couple took to the streets with photographers of Renaissance Studios Photography. It's all about taking advantage of the contemporary style of the urban backdrop that makes Toronto such a fabulous location for engagement shoots and weddings.
Renaissance Studios says there are endless options for great urban inspiration in just about every corner of Toronto. "Each community is so uniquely different, from the architecture to the people in it - you can really choose any story you want to tell, and find an ideal location for it, if you're just willing to look." From the funky bistros on College (Street) and the trendy fashion district to the brilliant, rough architecture of Liberty Village, Renaissance and their couples find inspiration in a multitude of Toronto backdrops.
