Community Gallery | flower child and their brides get creative outdoors (and in) for those ultimate wedding day pics
During one of our breaks from writing, designing, socializing with clients and everything else wedding related, we stalked some photo albums in The Ring's online community (one of our favourite pasttimes). We found this album by Toronto Photographer, Lee Anne Havens, of flower child photography.
What's fun about this album is that whether they're beside a monstrous silo in a barren space or leaning up against a rustic barn, Lee Anne and her brides get creative in a multitude of outdoor locations (and a few indoor spaces), all in the name of getting those ultimate wedding day photos. Having grown up in an artistic home, it was a given that Tara West would eventually do something in the arts. She found her niche in photography and says she can't imagine not doing what she does every day. A romantic at heart, Tara says she loves stopping a moment in time, then looking back to reflect on it. We could tell when we met with Tara at her cottage-like Campbelville studio that she's easy to get along with, has a relaxed, modern style of photography and genuinely loves being a part of the special days of her couples - before, during and after the wedding when more of life's milestones pop up.

Bassem describes the couples who choose him for their wedding photography as anyone who loves life and most importantly, each other. Bassem Wahba, Owner and Principal Photographer of his company, Bassem, is self-taught. He’s been in business for five years and is in obvious high demand, shooting about forty weddings per year. Most importantly though, he told us that he truly puts his heart into each wedding he takes on. "I photograph a wedding as if it's my own, and I feel, most of the time, it is." Saying his couples are friends as much as they become lifelong clients, Bassem says his relationships with each bride and groom allow him to blend into the crowd on the wedding day, capturing his couples' true essence.

In the past, The Ring has visited and called Collins Formal Wear countless times in an effort to do research for our brides and grooms. Every single time we approach Collins, we are greeted the same way each customer is greeted - warmly and with appreciation. Even with tons of weddings on the go, clients filling their rental locations, and lots on their plates, the three owners of Collins Formal Wear - Lynda, Brad and Curt Collins never fail to provide exceptional service to each of their clients, which likely has something to do with the fact that they believe "shopping for a tux is like shopping for a wedding gown. It's not a decision to be taken lightly." It's for this reason, and for their extensive selection of high quality, exclusive formal wear, that The Ring decided every groom (and his bride) should know what we know about Collins Formal Wear.

One couple's DIY approach to, and advice for, wedding planning

Whether it was fate or just sweet, romantic luck, Alicja and Ryan Kennedy ran into each other in Dominican Republic, even though they lived only five minutes apart in their home town. That meeting changed their lives forever. Four years later, on Christmas Even in 2007, Ryan proposed to Alicja and she said yes.
To choose their wedding date, they used a number of factors. They are both lovers of the outdoors (they spend a lot of time hiking in Waterloo together with their dogs) so the pair thought the colours of Fall would make for fantastic photos and a magical mood. "From the beginning of the planning process we wanted our wedding to be a venue for us to reflect our unique style and personality” explained Alicja. They also wanted to be able to give back to all of the friends and family who have made them the people they are today. "We wouldn’t be the couple we are without their support." So, they decided on Thanksgiving weekend in 2009. Read more.
