Affordable and all-inclusive, Beaverdale's ceremonies and receptions live up to GolfNorth standards
The GolfNorth name is a familiar one in Kitchener-Waterloo and the surrounding area, with highly rated golf courses, beautiful, picturesque grounds, and clubhouses worthy of elegant affairs – including weddings, which they've been creating for sixteen years. Beaverdale Golf Club in Cambridge is no exception to living up to the superior GolfNorth reputation, either, which may have something to do with Liz Hurrell the Wedding Coordinator & Hospitality Manager of the club. Liz is the one who's with brides and grooms from the first meeting, decorates the halls, schedules the day and, essentially, makes sure everything goes off without a hitch – something she says is a joy for her.

Talent, technique and a fly-on-the-wall approach to shooting, Taylor Jackson aims to make brides & grooms look like rock stars
For Taylor Jackson, owner of Taylor Jackson Photography, a camera is just a tool of the trade, one that doesn’t necessarily make a good photographer. He says it’s the person behind the camera that truly makes the photo what it is - whether that be good, bad, inspiring, sweet or just another shot. And for the past four years, Taylor has been the person behind that camera. Though his work speaks for itself, he is self-defined as a fun, unique photographer who has a true passion for making your wedding day photos amazing. Taylor's goal is to capture your personalities, shooting in an easy going, non-traditional style, all while being a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ and an extension to your wedding party. He aims to interact more like a friend would, than a photographer. Taylor says he's different because he's quick on his feet, inspired by all forms of photography and cinematography, and (thanks to a ton of concert photography!) can make the best in any lighting condition. In fact, his goal with every shoot is to make his clients look like total rock stars, so it's not a surprise that brides love him.

Nestled on the river, NithRidge’s amphitheatre, gardens and tent allow for outdoor dream weddings
We first discovered NithRidge Estate Weddings & Events just before their Grand Opening in June 2009. The property, owned by Terry and Marlene Schmidt, was already naturally beautiful on its own. Then, when you add in its renaissance ambiance, an amphitheatre for outdoor ceremonies, beautifully landscaped gardens and a horse drawn carriage, we knew that if this location wasn’t already booked solid, it would be shortly.

Family owners bring dedication, expertise & quality to the forefront of the tuxedo market
In the past, The Ring has visited and called Collins Formal Wear countless times in an effort to do research for our brides and grooms. Every single time we approach Collins, we are greeted the same way each customer is greeted - warmly and with appreciation. Even with tons of weddings on the go, clients filling their rental locations, and lots on their plates, the three owners of Collins Formal Wear - Lynda, Brad and Curt Collins never fail to provide exceptional service to each of their clients, which likely has something to do with the fact that they believe "shopping for a tux is like shopping for a wedding gown. It's not a decision to be taken lightly." It's for this reason, and for their extensive selection of high quality, exclusive formal wear, that The Ring decided every groom (and his bride) should know what we know about Collins Formal Wear.

Images Photography combines a dedicated approach with experience & passion to capture real memories
On your wedding day, Heidi Faul has the privilege of capturing your story through a series of natural, thoughtful and emotional photographs through her company, Images Photography. She believes that these photographs show a great deal about the bride and groom's personalities, their love for each other, and the love among their family and friends. "For me, it isn't about the grand sweeping portrait, the fashion edge or the over-romanticized scene. It is about a real love story where the couple commits to a lifetime together in front of their family and closest friends. What an honour for me to be able to capture that for them!”

Federation Hall combines a chic ambiance with contemporary wedding elegance for a night to remember
University of Waterloo's Federation Hall is a facility that has played a big part in the local community over the past twenty-five years. This large, unique and versatile space has been known as a concert hall, a convention centre for the likes of Google and RIM, a host for local charity events, and - most recently - as a very cool wedding facility that brings a swanky, contemporary atmosphere together with wedding elegance, resulting in a space that many brides have fallen in love with. Federation Hall comes with flexible catering, on site décor, indoor and outdoor options, space for 100 to 350, and so much more - including a new ceiling canopy, fresh neutral paint, couch covers in the lounge and an updated sound and lighting system. With an expert chef and the organized and helpful facility manager, who are both all about offering all-in-one wedding services, great food and making brides happy, we're not surprised that Federation Hall is already booking well into the next wedding season. Staff at The Ring sat down with these two gentlemen to find out more about weddings at Federation Hall. Here’s what we found...

Why The Ring?

The Ring is different from most wedding web sites and magazines because we go further than advertising for vendors or basic wedding tips for brides. Each advertiser Interviews & Reviewed in The Wedding Ring selects wedding professionals for their reputation, their cool-factor, and by the the fact that we've met them, like them, and want to tell you all about them. Many vendors have been recommended to us by other brides and wedding industry experts.  The Ring's staff has done its homework, checked references, and asked around to find great services that can work with all different tastes, budgets and preferences. You'll have lots of options to plan the perfect wedding but not so many that you don't know where to start. The Wedding Ring is a community and a concept that's designed all around what real brides need and what professional wedding vendors have every right to expect.

Hiring: What's a bride to do?

When you're faced with hiring services for the most important day of your life, based solely on who's phone book ad is the biggest, who has the nicest logo, or who's 'blurb' in a web site ad sounds best... When there are 60 florists and 47 photographers... how do you choose? By getting free access to all of the details, prices, options and recommendations you'd normally spend months trying to find. The Ring changes the way K-W brides plan weddings.
