Community Gallery | flower child and their brides get creative outdoors (and in) for those ultimate wedding day pics
During one of our breaks from writing, designing, socializing with clients and everything else wedding related, we stalked some photo albums in The Ring's online community (one of our favourite pasttimes). We found this album by Toronto Photographer, Lee Anne Havens, of flower child photography.
What's fun about this album is that whether they're beside a monstrous silo in a barren space or leaning up against a rustic barn, Lee Anne and her brides get creative in a multitude of outdoor locations (and a few indoor spaces), all in the name of getting those ultimate wedding day photos.
Trash the Dress shoots are more popular than ever with Toronto photographer
Whether you call it trash the dress (TTD), rock the dress, or immortalize the dress, what girl doesn't want to wear her gown again? Especially if it means getting some killer, runway-meets-grunge style fashion shots she would never have dared (or had to time) to take on her wedding day.
Trash the Dress shoots mean being able to get more romantic, more daring and having limitless options for photos, and they rarely result in actually ruining your dress. Toronto photographer, Manuela Stefan, says that TTD shoots are crazy popular right now, and she's showing us why.
T he Importance of an Engagement Photo Session
Clint Russell and Shawn Van Daele, Owners and Photographers of Renaissance Studios Photography, say that they often have brides inquire a lot about removing the e-session from their wedding photography packages. So, they had their Office Manager, Melissa Judson, sum up why she thinks it's a good idea to keep the e-session included...
A day filled with culture and class
August 22, 2009 :: Our Lady of Fatima Church & Oasis Convention Centre, Mississauga
The summer of 2009 was a whirlwind of weddings that I went to and was a part of - four beautiful weddings of eight amazing friends of mine and Tony's (that's my boyfriend, in case you were wondering). I've always loved weddings, even before I found this dream job where I get to write about them, so even though it was super busy, it was also really fun. It's even more fun now that I'm on the inside of the wedding industry because I get to take note of all of the moments, details and unique ways that people personalize their weddings.

One couple's DIY approach to, and advice for, wedding planning
October 10, 2009 :: Immaculate Conception RCC, Alliston; Hockley Valley Resort & Spa, Orangeville
Whether it was fate or just sweet, romantic luck, Alicja and Ryan Kennedy ran into each other in Dominican Republic, even though they lived only five minutes apart in their home town. That meeting changed their lives forever. Four years later, on Christmas Even in 2007, Ryan proposed to Alicja and she said yes.
To choose their wedding date, they used a number of factors. They are both lovers of the outdoors (they spend a lot of time hiking in Waterloo together with their dogs) so the pair thought the colours of Fall would make for fantastic photos and a magical mood. "From the beginning of the planning process we wanted our wedding to be a venue for us to reflect our unique style and personality” explained Alicja. They also wanted to be able to give back to all of the friends and family who have made them the people they are today. "We wouldn’t be the couple we are without their support." So, they decided on Thanksgiving weekend in 2009. Read more.

Couple beats the pre-winter weather with a wedding in sunny Dominican
With winds blistering outside and salt stained pants dripping with slush, it's hard to imagine that Spring is in the near future. And as the Team at The Ring turns up the furnace, we find ourselves lost in photos from destination weddings. The sun, the sand and the vibrant colours almost made us forget that it was minus thirty outside.
Jennifer & Tyler had the same idea when they planned their wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for November of 2009. And now, while all of our tanless bodies dry out, Jennifer and Tyler have their photos to look at while they drift back to their perfectly sunny wedding day, which was held on November 24, 2009. Luckily for us, they've shared their photos and a bit of their wedding story.
