Wedding favours: “For our wedding favours I painted small pots of basil and oregano sprouts and added glittery love picks and wrapped them in tulle bags. They had recycled paper disks filled with wildflower seeds that can be planted in the spring and the paper will biodegrade and the seeds will sprout flowers. My 3-year-old son and I made them together.” – T

DJ: “Rob Latour and Ed Latour who were also friends of the family.”- T

Hair & make-up: Hair was done by Pioneer Hair Works ( in Kitchener.

Wedding Photographer: Photography from the soul ( “I google-searched local photographers and met with some of them.  I chose Jenifer because she understood the look and feel of the images that I was interested in. She has the same sense of style that I was looking for. I really enjoyed the creativity in the photos and the fact that she was willing to be brave with some of the images. Most people thought I was nuts to want shots taken in the hotel bathroom, but the design of the bathroom was perfect for the style of pictures I wanted and she expressed no hesitation.  She understood the importance of the details. In the end, I was more than impressed with the photos she took, the care and consideration she used was very much appreciated.  She also dropped off a beautiful memory box that was beautifully wrapped with a memory stick to match with our names in gold foil, prints and an enlarged print from our day.” – T

Biggest challenge: “The planning of the wedding was incredibly easy and was planned almost in one day.  The biggest issue I had was probably finding shoes for my daughter who was the flower girl!” – T

Fav wedding memory: “The ceremony was my favourite memory.  That was the whole point of the celebration, to marry the father of my children and my dearest friend.” – T

Advice from one couple to another: “It’s not about the wedding. The big dress and flowers are nothing in the end. They are just things. It’s ultimately about the marriage. The commitment between two people to stay true to each other and support each other when life becomes hard.  To be there as a support, a shoulder, a cheerleader, and a reality check.  Marriage is about finding someone who can be there for you and who you can be there for as well.  Even when you might fight, you have to be able to say ‘I may be angry at you right now, but I would rather be angry with you now and know that we can work it out, rather than share my life with anyone else’.  That is what marriage is.” – T&M
