Their attention to detail, stunning setting and fabulous food made in-house, make this a must-see venue for a dream wedding. Here’s more…..

The Inn and its team

Idlewyld Inn was purchased by its current owner in December of 2013. Doors remained closed until the Spring for extensive renovations and today, the Inn is hosts about forty weddings per year.

When you book your wedding at Idlewyld Inn, you’ll get to know Wedding Sales Manager, Erin Lister as well as the Inn’s Manager, Effie Gurman. Erin brings with her over twenty years of wedding experience at Idlewyld’s sister venue, Elm Hurst Inn & Spa and is the initial contact point for couples when it comes to any information or questions about the Inn, setting up a tour and taking care of contracts and deposits. Effie takes care of any tours of the property, is your main contact during the planning process and is on-site the day of your wedding.

Another key player when it comes to weddings is Edward Bloor, the Inn’s Food & Beverage Manager. Ed is responsible for setting up and overseeing the food and beverage on the wedding day and comes with many years of experience working at Idlewyld Inn.
The Inn itself, built in 1878, is traditional and steeped with history. It was built by Charles Hyman, a former Mayor of London who later moved on to federal politics in Sir Wilfred Laurier’s cabinet. The Inn still holds its original structure, but has been renovated for its guest’s comfort, while still maintaining its historical character.

The atmosphere

Intimate, historic, elegant… this is the kind of venue that doesn’t require a lot of extra décor.

From an outdoor courtyard ceremony to an intimate reception in the Wine Cellar or Parlour Room, there are several options available for weddings with up to fifty guests. Says Erin, “The history of the building makes it warm and welcoming as does the stunning photo backdrop.”

Couples looking for an all in one site will love the Inn. You can truly have everything here- your rehearsal, treatments at the spa, your ceremony, photos, cocktails, reception and hotel rooms for your guests. Couples looking for a whole wedding weekend can come on a Friday for their rehearsal and stay through to Sunday for the wedding brunch.

It’s also a great spot for a bridal shower. Guests can enjoy an afternoon tea in the Parlour. Or, a martini night with the girls, complete with relaxing treatments at the spa.

The Inn features twenty-one fresh and unique guest rooms including options with double beds, queen and king beds and Jacuzzi tubs or air jet soaker tubs. Prices start at $190 and offer a range in price point so your guests can find something that fits within their budget and party size.

Idlewyld Inn is among the most beautiful and well managed wedding venues I photographed in Ontario and abroad. The inn offers the perfect backdrops for your wedding photos and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The spot I loved the most was the dining area where I took gorgeous portraits of the bride. One of my couples had their first look in front of Idlewyld Inn and their wedding photos looked like movie posters. Highly recommended!

The Idlewyld is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding! The back patio or one of their elegantly decorate rooms are beautiful for small ceremonies. Any of their gorgeous guests rooms are picture perfect for getting ready photos of the bride whether or not you are getting married there or at another location. And the food!! Divine!!

I just came home yesterday from an amazing wedding and wedding night at the Idlewyld Inn. My wife Kimberly and I decided on a three week only engagement and Christine Kropp the Inn Keeper was only too helpful and ready to accommodate. We had an intimate ceremony in front of the fireplace in the parlour and then entered the dining room next door for an amazing dinner (ordering off the menu kept our guests happy). The Inn was attentive in providing practical things like an iron and ironing board, set up of the room according to our specifications, professional wait staff that were there when needed but totally non-obtrusive. The chef even prepared a special wedding cake for us. We got a package that included an overnight in a quaint and very spacious room, with an amazing full breakfast. (spa packages, romantic extras are also available) We felt so pampered and special. What a great way to celebrate. I would highly recommend the Idlewyld Inn.
