A sunflower wedding was exactly what Ian and Jose wanted. They wanted to convey a rustic wedding with touches of pastel’s with the sunflowers as the focal point. The photo’s speak for themselves and we love the sunflower wedding they were able to create!

From the get-go, they were very helpful, quick to respond, and rolled with all the punches. We went from having a big wedding to a small wedding, to a big wedding. They were there every step of the way” – I

COLOUR PALETTE: “We had postponed the wedding until 2022. So, at my parents’ farm, we were doing a dry run on planting the sunflowers, just to see what looked good and how to make 2022 perfect. So, when the province lifted restrictions, we changed our minds and planned the wedding in 19 days.

The dry run became the main event for our sunflower wedding!

The sunflowers are what we based everything on. We wanted them to be the main focal point. We wanted a very rustic feel with beautiful pastels, so the flowers popped. The farm has such a beauty to it so we kept decorations to a minimum and used as many sunflowers as we could to create out beautiful sunflower wedding.” – I

TELL US YOUR STORY: “It all started 10 years prior to the wedding. We had a mutual friend that was positive that we would hit it off. Joe took her advice and reached out to me. We chatted online for a few weeks and finally decided to meet. It just happened to be Pride weekend as well. We went for lunch and ended up walking the streets and enjoying the festivities. He was living in Kingsville, and I was home at the farm (Dungannon) for the summer. We made the long-distance thing work for the rest of the summer. When school resumed in September, we both moved to Kitchener and decided to move in with each other right away.

That is when I knew we had something special.

The next 9 years were filled with concerts, festivals, traveling, moving to Toronto, moving to London, and falling more and more in love. After all that, Joe finally popped the question in the summer of 2020. With everything that was going on in the world, he made a way to make 2020 one of the most memorable. From the day he asked me to marry him he had it all planned that we would get married on our 10-year anniversary. With everything happening with COVID we decided to postpone the “big wedding”. We decided to have a small intimate wedding with just our families and a few friends.

19 days before the wedding the province lifted restrictions and my sister-in-law-to-be had the great idea of planning the big wedding in 19 days.

The mad dash was on to have our sunflower wedding. As you can see from the pictures it does not look like a 19-day wedding. Everything was perfect It was a lot of work, but I am so glad we got to have our special day on the day that started it all.” – I
