For the past 19 years, Something Blue Wedding DJs has provided outstanding DJ services for over 5,000 weddings. The company strives to ensure all your wedding guests have a great time throughout the entire day. With one of the largest music libraries in North America, the music is clean and the DJs play to the dance floor. For guests that want to sit and talk, the music isn’t blaring, so they can actually have a conversation without shouting over the music.

Staff at The Ring sat down with Keith Burton, owner of Something Blue Wedding DJs to find out a little more about the company and what services Something Blue offers happy couples for their wedding day.

From the beginning…

Keith Burton has been a wedding DJ all of his life. In 1997 he decided to expand his business, hire other great DJs and market the company’s services. Very quickly the number of weddings increased from about 30 a year to over 350 weddings booked in 2016.

After so many weddings, Keith admits that working with brides and grooms and giving them a beautifully elegant ceremony and a great party afterwards is what inspires him.

Keith describes Something Blue Wedding DJ services as elegant during the wedding ceremony, but when the reception starts, it’s time to party! All of the DJs at Something Blue are highly trained MCs, DJs and sound and lighting technicians. In the Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph area the Something Blue family consists of DJ Bear, DJ Jasper, DJ Carolyn, DJ Marg, DJ Terry, DJ Steve and DJ Ryan.

“Our 7 DJs in the Kitchener/Cambridge/Guelph area have a combined total of over 3,500 wedding under their belt,” says Keith. “Many of our DJs have technical degrees in sound and lighting from such institutions as Sheraton College, Humber College and Trebas Institute. We look for young people who are outgoing and easygoing. Then we train them in the Something Blue way of doing things. This all adds up to a perfect wedding day for our clients.”

Chantal and Andre Fernandes who got married on April 30th, 2016 enlisted Something Blue Wedding DJs’ services for their wedding reception and, according to Chantal, she would recommend Something Blue Wedding DJs to other couples planning their wedding.

“I just really appreciate the planner,” explains Chantal when asked for her favourite memory of Something Blue Wedding DJs. “For someone like me who plans down to the T, it really made things easy and stress-free. I also appreciate that DJ Matt took care of our kissing game without having to clarify anything with us. He just took over and made it work.”

Something Blue Wedding DJs have earned several awards the last few years including The Wedding Wire 2015 and 2016 Couples Choice Award and The Knot 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Best of Weddings Award for Ontario.

Susan and Colin Ash got married on September 12, 2015 and DJ Terry had their guests dancing all night long.

“I chose Something Blue Wedding DJs after reading the reviews and speaking with Keith. He made this so easy and he was very quick to respond and very helpful,” says Susan. “The whole night was awesome.”

“Keith was very organized, had a planner that we filled out about a week before the wedding and I was confident that everything would run smoothly. Keith was always reachable and answered emails in a timely manner,” says Chantal.

One of the reasons that Chantal and her fiancé choose Something Blue Wedding DJs was because of the price.

“I feel that you can get all the bells and whistles anywhere you want, but it was almost impossible to find a well rated DJ for under $1000. You cannot find the price they offer, for the quality they deliver, anywhere else. We paid less than we had budgeted and feel that we got great value. The price is literally unbeatable for the Toronto area.”
