Ceremony & Reception Location: Both were held at Beaverdale Golf Course (golfnorth.ca/beaverdale) with the ceremony on the patio and reception in the hall.

“We loved the Patio and the friendly staff at Beaverdale. They really made everything come together. Our event planner, Chelsea Barber, made the day worry free” – J&K

Colour Palette: Black and Champagne

Theme: “Rustic forest – lots of wood, branches and moss” – J

Flowers: “I didn’t use much in the way of flowers, all the bouquets were made by me. Bouquets were black and champagne silk flowers’ – J

Décor: “I actually did everything myself. I made pretty much everything from scratch” – J

Fav décor element: “My favourite piece of the entire wedding was my Arbor. My uncle made it for me and my lovely bridesmaids helped me decorate it” -J

DIY: “The best part about my wedding was we really tried to do everything ourselves – We made our own guest book sign, chalkboard frames, Polaroid photo booth” -J

Invitations/stationery: “Invitations were printed with Vista Print (vistaprint.ca). I finished them off with twine and a black raven feather” – J

Cake: “Cake and cupcakes were made by my cousins wife – a very talented baker. Cupcakes were half vanilla bean and half chocolate with buttercream icing” – J

Wedding favours: “Vintage Brass Keys, all different types, and guests got to choose their own unique ones” – J

Groomsmen and Groom’s attire: “Black suits, black shirts & black ties for the Groomsman. Kevin wore a champagne tie. The boys wore different graphic socks, picked out by Kevin” -J

Bridesmaids attire and accessories: “They all wore black floor length dresses from David’s Bridal (davidsbridal.ca) and they all wore the same sunnies” – J

Bride’s dress and accessories: “Funny enough, I couldn’t find anything unique enough in any bridal stores, so after some searching and digging through reviews, I ordered my dress through amazon!” – J

DJ: “We actually created a playlist through Spotify and was controlled by our MC Jonathan, who is a close cousin of mine” – J

Hair & make-up: “Hair was done by Dianne Galvao (another cousin) and makeup was done by Brenda Lopez in Kitchener – Besame Studio (besame.studio)” – J

Late Night: “The taco bar created by Beaverdale was a huge hit!!” – J

Photographer: Lauren Morton Photography (laurenmortonphotography.ca) “Lauren has been a friend for years and I have always loved her work. She’s so much fun to work with, our favorite part about the photos is everyone is so relaxed, everyone was so comfortable with her.”  J&K

Biggest challenge: “I think the last week was the most difficult. I found that getting all the last minute things together was stressful, but I just stuck to my list and received help from family and friends – the wine helped too!” – J

Fav wedding memory: “Our first look! There is so much build up to that point and after you see each other nothing else matters anymore. Also seeing my friends and family dressed up and having a great time made all the stress worth it.” – J

Advice from one couple to another: “Get as much as you can get done early and don’t be afraid to ask for help. When it comes to the day of and you both show up, that’s all that matters and everything else will fall into place” – J
