{Reality Wedding Story} Winter Wonderland at Rebel Creek Golf Club | Dana & Joe

Rebel Creek Golf club was the perfect place for Dana & Joe to have the winter wonderland wedding they had been dreaming of! With lot’s of silver, navy and twinkle lights it was a wedding their guests will not forget!….

Bride & Groom: Dana Wagler & Joe Voll

Wedding Date: January 28, 2017

Ceremony & Reception Location: Rebel Creek Golf Club (golfrebelcreek.ca)  “It had a beautiful indoor ceremony area surrounded with big windows where you could over look the golf course and the snow covered ground. Commute for our family and close friends was also important being it was winter time.” – D&J

Colour Palette: Navy, Silver and White

Theme: “We had a winter wonderland theme, with lots of lights, sparkle and an evening ceremony to give it a more warm and romantic feeling.” – D

Flowers: “My sister-in-law’s sister, Becky Baechler, along with Stacey Armstrong from Perfect Petals did my bouquet, the moms’ wrist corsages and the men’s boutonniere’s. Keeping with the winter theme they used a mixture of white hydrangeas, white stock, and white lisianthus, with subtle silver and navy accents with seeded eucalyptus and dusty miller trailing greens. The bridesmaids carried white lanterns with candles instead of flowers.” – D

Décor: Fresh Look Design (freshlookdesign.ca) “They did a mixture of Manzanita trees in cylinders with lights and crystals, and cube vases with hydrangeas and lights as our centre pieces. They also created a backdrop for our ceremony with navy satin, white sheer with twinkle lights. Our reception head table was a sparkly silver sequin table cloth with lots of silver votives with tea lights and a twinkle lights backdrop.” – D

Fav décor element: “Our head table! I loved the sequin table cloth with the very simple twinkle lights behind it. Also really liked the manzanita trees. I thought they were unique and went well with our theme.” – D

DIY: “My bridesmaid, Leti and I made our own table letters instead of numbers. We used plain wood letters from Michael’s, painted them navy and covered them with silver sparkles. My mom and I also made our seating chart with an old mirror that she painted and covered in sparkles and we used sparkle paper to display the seating plan.” – D

“Joe and I are very blessed to have 14 nieces and nephews ranging from 9 months to 10 years old. We wanted to include them all in the wedding.  The girls all wore navy sparkly dresses from either Marshal’s or Hudson Bay and the boys wore navy suits from H&M with high-top sneakers. The youngest nephew Victor, was pulled down the aisle in a winter sleigh and the girls also carried lanterns to match the bridesmaids.  The kids did so well throughout the whole day and danced the night away with us!” – D&J

Invitations/stationery: Let Them Know Designs

Cake: “We had a dessert buffet instead of a cake.” – D

Wedding favours: “We donated money to Children & Family Services in lieu of wedding favours.” – D&J

Groomsmen and Groom’s attire: Collins Formal Wear (collinsformalwear.com)

Bridesmaids attire and accessories: David’s Bridal (davidsbridal.ca)

Bride’s dress and accessories:Sophie’s Gown Shoppe (sophiesgownshoppe.com) is where I got my dress and earrings. I had a faux fur coat made that I wore for outdoor pictures.” – D

DJ: Olympic Sound (olympicsound.com)

Hair & make-up: “Erin Moreau from Baden did all the ladies make up. Kaitlin Wagler from Studio K (Also my cousin and a bridesmaid) did my hair, along side her was Jenna Cutone helping out with the other bridesmaids.” – D

Wedding Planner: “Danielle from Rebel Creek was all we needed. She really helped complete our day. She was a dream to work with and made the venue and food process super easy for us!” – D&J

Photographer: Ben Lariviere Photography (benlariviere.com) “Ben grew up in our area and has done numerous friends weddings. It was great that I already knew Ben, was comfortable with him and had seen his quality of work several times. He is very dedicated to his job and it shows in his pictures. I loved how he captured the snow falling and was willing to withstand the cool wind to get the perfect shots. He also managed to get a great photo of Joe and I with all 14 nieces and nephews which is not an easy task!” – D

Biggest challenge: “The guest list, it really just came down to budget and capacity of the venue. We were fortunate enough to have almost all our family and close friends share in the day with us.” – D&J

Best memory of your wedding: “Joe and I did a first look outside at Rebel, it was such a special moment to have just us two before the craziness of the day began! Another highlight were the speeches, we got so many compliments on them also!”

Advice from one bride to another: “Try and take a few minutes the day of your wedding to just sit back and really soak it in. The day goes by so fast so it’s nice to have a moment when you can just look around and take it all in together.” – D
