{Reality Wedding Story} Candle Light and Romance Bring This Rebel Creek Wedding To Life

Can you say swoon worthy!?! This wedding screams romantic! Tons of candle light made the perfect backdrop for this evening ceremony. With loads of DIY, Shannon and Mike made their wedding day very personal and all about the love.

THEME: “Our wedding was an evening ceremony. The theme was candle light. Since the inspiration for the wedding was romance, I wanted all the components of a romantic evening; soft lights with candles and warm colours. I also slipped in a few vintage items.”

FAV DECOR ELEMENT: “The candleabras! My husband painted them white. They were a beautiful addition to the rest of the alter.”

DIY: “Most of the décor was DIY! everything from the flowers to the centrepieces.”

BEST WEDDING MEMORY: “My dad walked me down the aisle and then turned and did the ceremony. We only hired the officiant for the legalities. My Dad did an amazing job. He added humour and love. It was so special!”

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “The number of guests. We really suffered with this one. We tackled it by asking each other when was the last time we saw this person or has there been some drifting apart? We just kept going thru the list and had to cut it down. We started cutting with people who we knew wouldn’t enjoy themselves and went from there.”

ADVICE FROM ONE BRIDE TO ANOTHER: Remember why you are doing this. Keep focused on your plan while still being a bit flexible. There will be some bumps but people will help you through them. There should be no such thing as bridezilla! That’s not classy.
