{Reality Wedding Story} A Cambridge Mill Princess-Style Wedding

BRIDE & GROOM: Katherine Weaver-Rutten & Stephen Kuban

WEDDING DATE: November 12th, 2017

LOCATION: Cambridge Mill (♥) (cambridgemill.com), Cambridge, ON “We went there for our engagement dinner and couldn’t find a more beautiful spot.” – K&S

THEME: “Our overall colour was burgundy with a mix of rustic and modern vibes. The venue inspired this theme as we felt the Mill was already so beautiful that we did not want to change or add to it.” – K

PHOTOGRAPHY: Julie Nicole Photography (♥) (julienicolephotography.com) “We choose Julie because she was so easy to work with. She made us both feel at ease while still directing us for the perfect shots. She was also amazing at commanding a room, which is so important during the chaos of the big day. I first booked Julie for Christmas card photos. We immediately fell in love with her work. I love how clean and sleek with a hint of romantic feeling the photos look. ” – K

# GUESTS: 97

BUDGET:$25,000

FLORALS:La Petite Fleur (♥) (petitefleur.ca), Cambridge, ON “Brandy nailed it. The bouquet was stunning and original. I’d never seen anything like it and everyone wanted to know who created it. The centrepieces were a big hit and guests were fighting to take them home.” – K

DIY: “We did loot bags for each child. We had 17 children under the age of 12 and we thought loot bags were the best way to entertain them during speeches.” – K

STATIONERY: Red Bicyle Paper Co. (♥) (redbicyclepaperco.com) Cambridge, ON

CAKE: Unity Baking (unitybaking.com) Waterloo, ON

PHOTOBOOTH: Zattu Photobooth (zattuphotobooth.ca) Kitchener, ON

DJ: Spin Doctor Productions (spindoctorproductions.com) Kitchener, ON

GROOMSMEN AND GROOM’S ATTIRE: Le Chateau (lechateau.com)

BRIDESMAIDS ATTIRE: Le Chateau (lechateau.com)

BRIDE’S ATTIRE: Taylor’s Bridal Boutique (taylorsbridal.com), Elmira, ON

HAIR & MAKE-UP: Teased Bridal (teasedbridal.com), Woodstock, ON

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “The biggest challenge was all the small details. Planning a wedding requires such a long mental list! I would continuously write items out, but still carry around a to-do list in my head.” – K

BEST MEMORY: “My best memory of the wedding was walking down the aisle. My father had no idea what song was going to play, so when he heard the theme to Star Wars he couldn’t stop smiling and laughing, along with the guests” – K

ADVICE ONE BRIDE, TO ANOTHER: “Take a day off afterwards. We jumped right into our honeymoon and we didn’t even have time to open cards or gifts! Also, plan for extra time. You will definitely need it. Take lots of mental pictures! You’ll blink and it will all be over!” – K
