{Real Wedding Story} Naturally elegant love story

BRIDE & GROOM: Danielle Brubacher & Miroslav Simko

WEDDING DATE: August 26th, 2017

LOCATION: Waterloo Regional Police Association and Recreation Centre (♥) (wrpa.org) Cambridge, ON “We loved that we could have the ceremony and reception at the same location. The beautiful grounds were perfect for guests to mingle, enjoy some appetizers, and play outdoor lawn games before the reception. The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. Although we both live in Sudbury, both of our families are from the K-W area, so Cambridge was a nice central location.” – D

PHOTOGRAPHY: Spirits Intrigued Photography (♥) (sipimage.com) Kitchener, ON “I had narrowed it down to two photographers in the area when my mother-in-law told me that one of their family friends (originally from the same town in Serbia) worked as a photographer in K-W. When she told me his name, Alex Budinski, I couldn’t believe it was one of my two preferred choices! I figured it was meant to be, and we couldn’t have been happier with him and his work. He had great suggestions and a sense of adventure for unique photos, including a spontaneous stop for a kiss in a corn field just 30 minutes before our ceremony!” – D

# GUESTS: 200

BUDGET: $30,000

THEME: “We wanted to bring some of “the north” to Cambridge by using birch accents for a variety of décor. Our colour scheme was coral/peach, green and gold for a natural, yet elegant feel.” – D

DÉCOR: Decorating Dreams (♥) (decoratingdreams.ca) New Hamburg, ON

FLORALS: Floral Fusion (floralfusion.ca) Floradale, ON

BRIDE’S ATTIRE: Ballet’s Bridal (balletts.com) Kitchener, ON

DJ: Allegro Productions (♥) (allegroproductions.ca) Kitchener, ON

BEST MEMORY: “One of our favourite memories was how special it was to have my brother Jonathan, who is a pastor in Elmira, marry us. Miroslav’s uncle Elemir, from Saskatoon also conducted a traditional Ruthenian ceremony, which was unique for a Canadian wedding and very meaningful.” – D

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “It was somewhat of a challenge to plan a wedding in Cambridge while living in Sudbury. It meant quite a few trips south, but many of the details could be done online. Thanks to family and friends in the area who could help run errands!)” – D
