With the river flowing through the town, it’s a tranquil and peaceful place full of rich history and elegance. The Puddicombe House can host your wedding from 5 to 250 persons, offering a vintage and classic appeal for brides and grooms.

The story behind The Puddicombe House…

Built in 1868 by Samuel Merner, a business man, Member of Parliament and Senator, The Puddicombe House was purchased by Robert B. Puddicombe in 1888 for $4,500 and was owned by the Puddicombe family until 1969, when it was converted into a six unit apartment building.

In 2006, the Cressman family of New Hamburg purchased Puddicombe House. The house was extensively restored to accommodate a full service restaurant, spa and hair salon, as well as a bed and breakfast.

Puddicombe House is a family owned and operated business.Lyle and Karen Cressman have been providing culinary services for weddings for over 30 years.

Nick Cressman is General Manager and his sister, Amber Kroetsch is the spa manager of Puddicombe House. Mom, Karen Cressman along with Executive Chef Lance Edwards and Banquet Chef Jamie Monk are in charge of the culinary aspect of the operation. The Cressman family have been hosting weddings since the first day of owning the Puddicombe House. 2016 saw the opening of the Puddicombe Banquet and Event Hall. Located to the rear of Puddicombe House, the Hall is architecturally-designed to complement the original building with grand style.

All about the venue…

Featuring impressive Italianate architecture and elegant décor, the Puddicombe House Restaurant/ Inn has 12 foot ceilings with plaster cornice moulding and painted details. The restaurant can seat 60 or accommodate 100 for a standing cocktail reception, with the Reception Hall welcoming weddings and other celebrations for up to 250 guests. Restaurant guests can also enjoy cocktails and dinner on the lower patio or upper wrap around porch.The Puddicombe House also offers six overnight guest rooms and two cottages.
