{Reality Wedding Story} From Prague to Canada, Mike & Nasha say I Do to their dream wedding

Mike and Nasha’s wedding day spanned two countries and ten months. This lovely couple wanted to bring their Prague ceremony to Galt Country Club (galtcountryclub.com). Playing into the beautiful, soft light that filters into the ballroom and incorporating more hand-chosen details, Mike and Nasha were able to give their guests a taste of their Prague wedding. They accomplished just that with soft pinks and golds and many (many) DIY elements!

HAIR & MAKE-UP: Andrew Nuri Salon (andrewnuri.ca)

COLOUR PALETTE: Mint, cream, gold, peaches and coral pinks

THEME: Both Mike and I wanted the event to capture the theme that we used on our actual wedding in Prague, Czech Republic—the fresh and airy romantic feel of such a beautiful city, coupled with the summery serenity of the palette we chose.

FAVOURITE DECOR ELEMENT: Hands-down the flowers. “I found myself stopping to just admire the beautiful arrangements throughout the reception. Everyone commented on how pretty everything looked but the flowers were so unique to me, as they combined elements I really loved and had a bit of sentimental value in the chosen selection of flowers.”

DIY PROJECTS: “We are both DIYers and took this chance to do as much as we could. We designed the invitations, menu cards, the gifts and celebration signs and the seating chart. We built a photo booth, a giant wooden Mr. & Mrs sign, cut and painted the wooden table numbers, painted picture frames and bought all the decorations for various tables, including our mint card-box, birdcage decorations, candles, tealight holders and more.”

“We are both DIYers and took this chance to do as much as we could.”

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: Getting through all our DIY projects with our sanity still intact!

BEST WEDDING MEMORY:For myself, the best memory was of our reception was heading out to the rear grounds of Galt Country Club, savoring the beautiful scenery and taking pictures in the soft dusk light. It was a moment of respite and allowed us to enjoy all our (and all our vendors’) hard work that brought us to this point.”

“…savoring the beautiful scenery and taking picture in the soft dusk light…”

“For Mike, his best moment was playing our wedding video from Prague for all our guests, and getting to see people’s reactions.”

Write a plan for both the bride and the groom. Sit down together and talk through all your ideas. It’s normal for brides to often take over the entire wedding planning, but it’s the groom’s day too!
