London Wedding Minister has over 25 years of experience, and flexibility & putting Brides at ease…
Over the past twenty-five years of being a wedding Officiant, Kelly Sibthorpe, London Wedding Minister, has been a part of hundreds of weddings – and still he says he never tires of announcing the newlyweds. He also makes it his goal to craft a ceremony that will be unique and memorable for each couple – each couple’s needs and traditions are unique, so guided ceremony planning by Kelly reduces stress, ensuring the best possible twenty minutes or under celebration of a couple’s love. And with Kelly’s experience, he’s bound to have some great ideas up his sleeve…
With packages that range from quiet elopement to help with planning and rehearsing every ceremony detail and the option of taking wedding preparation and marriage coaching courses, we’re not surprised that brides love London Wedding Minister. And so does The Ring. We met with Kelly and were instantly attracted to his easy going, relaxed personality that will calm even the most stressed out bride. Let us tell you more…
As an Ordained Minister, Kelly is licensed to officiate weddings in Ontario. With twenty-five years as a pastor, community organizer and Life Passages Celebrant, Kelly takes great joy in planning for and pulling off the big wedding day!
We asked Kelly what made him want to become an officiant, and, other than a pure love for weddings, he told The Ring, “There are many in society today who no longer attend or belong to a church but still prefer an experienced minister/celebrant to officiate at their special life passage events… As a licensed minister and wedding officiate, I am able to assist this important need.” This is especially great because Kelly adds that many brides are stressed enough with all the details of planning their wedding. Finding an officiant that they can trust with ceremony details should not add to stress but rather bring a calm assurance that the person leading is competent and resourceful. Kelly is that kind of officiant. Kelly adds jokingly, “without the officiant, it’s just a lovely, expensive party.”
Pronouncing you as husband and wife…
Kelly performs, celebrations of life, marriage renewals and other life passage ceremonies but he says that it’s weddings that he’s most often involved with. In fact, he told us that he’s been a part of hundreds of weddings and says that he loves performing ceremonies so much that he may never retire.
Kelly also loves the uniqueness of each wedding he performs. “Although many of the components are similar, no two weddings are ever the same,” Kelly told us. “I enjoy the variety that each presents. My greatest thrill (and I never tire of it) is that at the end of every ceremony I get to say, ‘And now Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you for the first time as husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. …” What a romantic!
Having so much wedding experience has also given Kelly the opportunity (or privilege, as he says) of performing all kinds of wedding ceremonies, “from very traditional to backyard family gatherings… and everything in between. Theme and destination weddings as well as discreet elopements are very popular these days. When I meet Brides and couples who want that special feeling on their wedding day, I let my imagination soar and together we come up with great ceremony options that will always be treasured by all attending. I have lots of other alternative ideas for non-traditional weddings”, Kelly says.
Officiating personalized, sometimes humorous but always impactful wedding ceremonies is what Kelly says he is best known for. “Non-denominational is perfect for the couple looking for a spiritual ceremony, if not a religious one,” he told The Ring. Helping each couple through the process of evaluating and choosing from so many ceremony components and options out there is what he says he does best. “Then, after organizing, filtering and on occasion, some careful tweaking, together we craft a ceremony that will be unique and memorable.”
Tim and Megan O’Neill have this to say about Kelly, “Tim and I want to thank Kelly for such a beautiful ceremony!!! He received so many complements from our guests! Kelly made us feel at ease and everything was just wonderful. We can’t thank him enough!”
Ceremony structures are open and flexible with London Wedding Minister and asking brides and couples what they dream for in a ceremony is paramount. “I will usually ask a couple if they don’t mind some humour in the ceremony. Most don’t,” Kelly told us. This caring and calming manner is one reason that Kelly thinks brides choose him to officiate their wedding. We couldn’t agree more as we were immediately comfortable with him when we met – he has an easy going, relaxed personality that we think would make even the most stressed out bride take a deep breath and just enjoy the process of getting married.
Tim and Jess would highly recommend Kelly to take part in your special day. “It was a pleasure to have Kelly officiate our ceremony. He was professional and very well spoken. He walked us through the entire ceremony and it could not have gone any better!”
Tim and Megan would agree that Kelly is relaxed and casual, which they say helped their ceremony go very smoothly. “Kelly made us feel at ease and everything was just wonderful! He was friendly and extremely helpful and calmed everyone when our musician was close to an hour late! At a time of great stress for us, he brought calm carried everything off with ease.”
London Wedding Minister offers ceremony packages suited to taste and budget. The average bride spends $350 with London Wedding Minister and all packages include a ceremony at a location of your choosing.
The Discreet Elopement Package: allows a loving couple to marry without fanfare. All you need is the license, rings and witnesses and Kelly will perform a predesigned ceremony wherever you want.
LWM’s Platinum Wedding Package: includes your ceremony planning guide, along with a customization planning session to suit your dream wedding. You can add a rehearsal if you like and your choice of a romantic unity ceremony that you will forever remember. “Brides love our very unique Time Capsule Ceremony”, Kelly adds.
In his experience, Kelly told us that LWM’s planning packages fit with the needs of his couples. “Couples come away feeling that the ceremony we have planned together is what they envisioned to suit the size and particulars of their wedding.” He added, “More and more couples are choosing to incorporate a bit of tradition in their ceremonies – whether that tradition is rooted in religion, culture or in their family, they are using it as a tribute to their family and friends, the personal touches that I add are very important.” Which is why, even though there are pre-set packages, Kelly will meet with each couple to customize the package to suit their traditions, desires and needs.
Because Kelly is a trained counsellor, London Wedding Minister also offers Intimate Communication Therapy, Wedding Preparation Courses and Marriage Coaching – which are not mandatory. Kelly told us, “These sessions are great for both engaged and married couples. Wedding prep courses are only a few hours for a couple of sessions. Post-marriage communication help is always available to ensure the longevity of a marriage.”
