{Reality Wedding Story} New Year’s Eve Wedding at THEMUSEUM

Jane and Kevin have had a true love story since the day they met 6 years ago. Kevin won Jane over with his wicked sense of humour and the two have been having adventures ever since. When it came to planning the wedding, Jane wanted it reflect their fun, easy-going and laid back personalities. Choosing THEMUSEUM created the perfect backdrop for just that feeling!

WEDDING DATE: December 31, 2016

CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATION: THEMUSEUM (www.themuseum.ca“We choose THEMUSEUM because of how laid back and fun it is. It is not a typical event space and already has a TON of character! On top of that, with it being a children’s museum there are so many games, informational exhibits and much more that makes it fun for not only us but for all of our guests too!”

PHOTOGRAPHER: Elfreda Dalby Photography (www.elfredadalby.com)

“My career is built on planning events and thus the photographer we used is one I’ve worked with on other events. I’ve seen Elfreda’s great work and couldn’t pass up the opportunity for our wedding!” – Jane

FLORALS: Dutch Mill Flower Shop (www.dutchmillflowershop.com)

“Janice at Dutch Mill creates amazing arrangements using classic and exotic flowers”

STATIONERY: Jay Mielke from Milk Man Media (www.milkmanmedia.ca)

BRIDESMAIDS ATTIRE & ACCESSORIES: They wore Sorella Vita and planned all their own jewellery.

CAKE: “Our friends at the Scran and Dram (www.scrananddram.ca) in New Hamburg make the best sticky toffee pudding! That’s what we had for dessert.” Jane

COLOURS: Navy, Gold & Champagne

THEME: “With this being New Years I wanted it to not just be a New Year’s Eve party, but a classy New Year’s Eve wedding! By incorporating navy it looked far less like NYE.”

WEDDING DAY CHALLENGES: “Nothing really…..My dress was pretty much ruined by the end of the night (people stepped all over it, there are holes all throughout the tulle), but it all tells a story and I can look at my dress and relive the day and night and all the things that happened.” – Jane

BEST WEDDING MEMORY: “I remember how I felt. The love that was shown, the fun that was had, the glam squad who did great work and the Hayley Paige dress all made me feel like a million bucks! I won’t ever forget that day!”

ADVICE FROM ONE BRIDE TO ANOTHER: “Everyone will have opinions, but stay true to what you want.”
