Weddings can take a sombre approach when loved one’s have passed away or are ill and not able to get to your wedding. Rather than being sombre celebrate those loved one’s by making them apart of your day. Dan from Day 2 Knight Events (day2knightevents.com) shares some special ways to do just that..
“Do a live video for any loved one’s who aren’t able to attend the wedding for health reasons. Recently I helped Skype a loved one into a wedding ceremony from a local hospital room making it a memorable experience for all involved.” – Dan
Save them a seat at your ceremony. You can leave an empty seat at your ceremony for any loved ones who are there in spirit. You could also seat them at a table at your reception.
Set up a memorial table. You can have pictures of loved ones displayed for other guests to look at and honour their memory.
Mention loved one’s in the ceremony or reception. You can mention any loved ones in speeches or toasts.
Honouring your loved ones can be done tastefully without making anyone feel uncomfortable or sad.
