From the Fall/Winter 2015issue of The Wedding Ring VANCOUVER ISLAND Magazine

Vancouver Island brides and grooms are fortunate to live in a part of the world where ‘going green‘ with any wedding day decor is simple to accomplish and the results are spectacular!

Everywhere you look you’ll find an abundance of greenery, trees, driftwood, ferns, stones, shells, moss, sand, pine cones and more – all free for the taking and usable by creative couples as decor on their wedding days.

The team at The Ring loves skimming Pinterest for creative new Island decor ideas. Here are a few of our favourite pins/ ideas …
Pine cones, shells or stones used to accent name cards on plates – these are pretty and they make great souvenirs.

Wood rounds ( thick slices of tree trunks, often with bark still on) for cake stands or table centrepieces.
Branches which are painted and used to hang fresh florals. Birch branches are trending right now because of their sleek white/grey bark.
Driftwood that has been hollowed out and used to hold candles.
Shells, coated in glitter, and displayed loosely across table tops.

You won’t have to look very far to find original green decor ideas for any wedding design. Happy hunting!
