Strikingly situated above the thundering falls of the Grand River and the Elora Gorge, the Elora Mill Hotel & Spa celebrates 175 years enriched in history and charm. This long-anticipated venue is not only guaranteed to be gorgeous, but it is now officially taking bookings for 2018!! This is everything you need to know to plan an Elora Mill wedding…
Elora Ontario home to stunning cliffs, trails, the gorge & the mill
Opening in the Spring of 2018, the Elora Mill will be a boutique hotel offering luxurious suites with stunning views over the Grand River. And for brides and grooms, Elora will now unveil itself as a magical year-round setting for some of the most incredible wedding celebrations.
If you’ve never visited the small town of Elora, you need to. This town has long since become a tourist destination, known for it’s stunning cliffs, trails, gorge, and of course, the Elora Mill, which has now undergone full renovations and restorations by the team at Pearle Hospitality (who also own the Cambridge Mill, Ancaster Mill, Spencer’s at the Waterfront and more).
In keeping with the Pearle Hospitality’s philosophy of authenticity, the hotel design embraces the love of all things local – curated local art, finely crafted furnishings and menu items made from selectively sourced ingredients of nearby farms.
“Our philosophy in approaching this project is all about its sense of place, rooted in the community, inspired by natural beauty and creating a truly authentic guest experience. We will draw on all that makes this destination distinct throughout the year.”
– Aaron Ciancone, President of Pearle Hospitality.
In fact, the area has not been able to offer visitors first-class accommodations and special event spaces until now.
Wedding guests can celebrate your wedding day with you, stay overnight, tour the surrounding shop-filled streets or adventure throughout Elora’s cliffs, trails and gorge. Nearby activities include zip-lining over the gorge, glass-blowing classes, pottery making and some of the best fly fishing in Ontario.
The Elora Mill offers two spaces designed to accommodate incredible weddings and events.
The Grand Room seats up to 200 guests and is located on the top floor of the Granary. With plenty of space for an evening of dinner and dancing, it’s probably the view that will take your breath away most. Wrap-around windows overlook historic Elora, the Grand River and the Elora Mill itself. The decor is a mix of classic European while still respecting the historic nature of Elora. Design details such as decorative moulding, antique mirrors, a stone wood-burning fireplace, high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers all come together to create an incredible setting for your wedding day.
The Irvine Room seats up to 100 and is for those who are looking for a more intimate setting. Also with classic European design, this space offers ornate mouldings, majestic chandeliers, neutral hues and dramatic high ceilings. The Irvine Room easily accommodates a head table and various arrangements of rectangular and circular tables, while still leaving room for dancing. Windows overlook your private courtyard, a picture-perfect old-world setting.
Equally as impressive will be the views from the restaurant and bar, enclosed in glass and cantilevered over the rushing river below.
The Elora Mill Accomodations & Spa
Guest rooms and suites at the Elora Mill are designed for both comfort and luxury. The team at Pearle explain, “There are four unique décor themes that run throughout the hotel ; French, Classic, Rustic and Modern. These design themes provide a slightly different look to each room type with features such as King sized beds, sumptuous bed linens, wood burning fireplaces, balconies or terraces and luxurious bathrooms with soaking tubs. In addition to the beauty inside, most rooms provide stunning views of the river below.”
The spa, surrounded by nature, is being built along the cliff of the gorge, offering health, wellness and relaxation treatments to guests.
