Casa Loma love story | Patricia & Nicholas

Patricia and Nicholas fell in love with the Casa Loma as soon as they walked onto the grounds and it has since been a dream of theirs to get married there one day. With lot’s of love from family and friends they were able to make all of their wedding dreams come true…

Wedding Date: Saturday January 12, 2019

Ceremony & Reception Location(s): “The ceremony was at Casa Loma (casaloma.ca) & our reception was at Oasis Convention Centre (oasisconvention.com). Getting married at Casa Loma was a long time dream for both of us and we fell in love with the idea because of how unique and beautiful the location was. The reception was at Oasis Convention Centre because we love their food & they were very accommodating to all our wishes.” – P&N

Colour Palette: burgundy & grey

Theme: “We were trying for a romantic/vineyard theme” – P&N

Flowers: Bridal Blossom (bridalblossom.com) “We used real roses – burgundy, red, white & blush and white Orchids for the parents.” – P

Décor: “We didn’t hire anyone to do our décor, it was done by myself with help from my family & wedding party. For the centre pieces we decorated wine bottles with gems to look like grapes & lights inside the bottles, Rose petals were the extra touch placed around them. The head tables had grapevines with lights intertwined.” – P

Fav décor element: “My Centrepieces!” – P

DIY: “For our wedding guestbook we took pictures of our guests as they walked in with an “Instax” camera and they either wrote a little message or signed their names to attach with their picture.” – P

Invitations/stationery: Vistaprint

Cake: “The cake was done by myself and my mother. It was a 4 tiered marble cake covered in buttercream and fondant. I had a special surprise on one side of the cake for my husband – Images of his favourite band Iron Maiden!” -P

Wedding favours: Laura Secord chocolates

Bridesmaids attire and accessories: David’s Bridal (davidsbridal.ca)

Bride’s dress and accessories: “David’s bridal for my dress & my something borrowed and blue was my jewellery.”

DJ: DJ Omar -family friend

Band: Music is a big part of our life so we wanted to share our love of it with our family & friends. We asked the Burlington Top Hats, a wonderful band we are currently apart of – to perform at our reception. we also joined in and played a few songs along side them.

Hair & make-up: Pretty in Pink mobile makeup (prettyinpink-mobilemakeup.com) & for hair we went to Serandas Salon” – P

They were great, friendly and made things fun and easy to work with. Minus not getting the snowfall we hoped for & pictured – the pictures taken at our ceremony at Casa Loma were beautiful – a dream come true ” – P

Biggest challenge: “Guest list and staying within budget!” -P&N

Fav wedding memory: “Every moment!” – P&N

Advice from one couple to another: “Work together and communication is definitely key to making things less stressful- the day of just enjoy everything” – P&N
