Canada’s most gorgeous weddings are right here in Southwestern Ontario

Brantford is a growing city, but it’s not so big that it’s lost its small town feel. “Brantford has a great mix of people and a variety of brides,” says Kim Rasokas, Owner of The Creative Bride.

From a photographer’s perspective, Brantford offers a wide range of ideas and locations, all within just minutes of each other. Tara Jeles of So Jeles Photography says, “We have forests and wooded trails, gorgeous gardens, urban downtown and a grittier look if wanted, too.”

On the urban side, Brantford has some neat architecture throughout, including the Via Train Station, skateboarding park, century buildings and homes. “Then, you have the total opposite out in the country,” adds Tara, “with corn fields or wheat, making outstanding backdrops. The Grand River can be used as well.”

One of the coolest wedding venues Kim has seen is The Sanderson Centre, where you can actually get married on the stage. “It’s really gorgeous and a unique setting for a wedding if you want to be in the spotlight,” she says.

For a great location for engagement photos or winter weddings, Kim suggests Harmony Square, which has an outdoor skating rink. For the summer, Kim says that Northridge Public Golf Course has beautiful gardens. She adds that all year round, downtown Paris is popular because “it’s quaint with a small town feel and adorable cafés to provide a great backdrop for photos.”

Other outdoor options in Brantford, offered by Tara, are Glenhyrst Art Gallery on the lawn and Apps Mill (between Paris and Brantford). “Myrtleville house is fun for indoor and outdoor shots,” she adds.
