We know not every groom is a jewellery lover, or thrilled about picking out a ring that he has to wear forever. But, Jenny Dortman of James O Poag Jewellers (www.poags.com)shared with us some very unique men's wedding bands in a variety of metals.
From ancient Japanese bonding techniques to legendary Damascus steel - fit for Syrian swords and coming from meteorites, even the manliest man could fall in love with these wedding bands.

Some background: Mokume Gane
An ancient Japanese technique, Mokume Gane bonds many layers of precious metals into a single piece that is then worked into beautiful patterns - like the one shown in these rings. The technique creates beautiful and unique rings by using between 15 and 35 separate layers of metal, which bonded together to make a solid base. After bonding, the base can be twisted, cut and re-assembled, ground down in areas or shaped with punches or chisels. It's then rolled out to a workable thickness, revealing its new patterns. The name means "wood pattern metal", evident by some of the patterns you see here...
