WAR BRIDES: then & now| A war bride is someone who was married during the war and largely refers to those that took place during World War I and II. But so long as war exists, expedites marriages and separates newlyweds, so too, do war brides, and we met with two generations of them. The group of twenty overseas war brides from WWII had stories of knowing their husbands for short periods of time, planning their weddings in a few short days, and starting their new lives in Canada sometimes years after the wedding.
And while the modern war brides had different wedding stories to tell, all of these women have something in common...
