Royal wedding fever, fashion & need-to-knows

With less than twenty-four hours to the royal wedding, it’s official. We’ve caught royal fever. And if you’ve caught it too, you’re just one of many. After all, the marriage of Prince William to Catherine Middleton is a sweet mix of history, tradition, politics and romance that's all too easy to get hooked on.
Whether you’ve asked for the day off work, brought out your favourite champagne flutes for the toast and/or are attempting to make a very British trifle (like some of us), there’s many ways to celebrate and participate in the event. This Friday, an estimated two billion people from around the world will tune in to watch a real life fairytale unfold. In the UK, Will & Kate’s wedding is a National holiday.
Kitchener-Waterloo based photographer, Denise Bélanger of C’est Chic Photography [www.cestchicphoto.com] considers the royal wedding to be the biggest celebrity wedding of the decade. “I am intrigued by it all… And of course we all want to see what Kate wears!!"
Let’s face it; the fashion alone is enough reason to tune in. Heidi Allen, a TV celeb wedding planner on Rich Groom Poor Groom and owner of weddings Heidi Style says, "I am very excited to watch the royal wedding because it is more than just a wedding; it's also a major fashion event! There's no doubt this will be one of the biggest British fashion moments of the last ten years! Photos of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress will appear in the history books as well as all over the internet. It would be difficult to ignore the impact that the royal wedding will have on fashion all over the world and for a long time to come."
So with most of the details being kept under wraps until Wills and Kate meet at the alter of Westminster Abbey tomorrow, celebrities, reporters, fashionistas and viewers alike are dying for details. Who’s designing her dress? Does she really have six hair dressers working on her? And will she or won’t she follow tradition and wear a tiara (rumour is, she might opt for flowers instead). And while we can’t answer any of these questions for you just yet, here’s what we can tell you…
