Wedding Ideas & Tips: Sweet Ceremony - Love Letter Exchange
For extra romance, try adding a Love Letter Exchange to your wedding ceremony.
Here’s how it works...
1. The bride and groom each prepare a love letter, including reasons why each chose the other to spend the rest of their life with.
2. On the wedding day, the Officiant will share the only two circumstances when the couple will unlock and reveal the contents to one another. Circumstance #1 is during a significant wedding anniversary or milestone in their marriage. Circumstance #2 is if time passes and serious doubts about their relationship causes the marriage to falter. Together, they should unlock the box, partake in the wine, read the loving words and be reminded of their wedding vows and the reasons they decided to marry and commit to eachother.
3. Following the Officiant’s remarks, the couple present their sealed love letters. These letters are placed in the stationery pouch provided in the box along with the selected wine bottle, goblets and other mementos. Once the contents are in place, the box is locked.
4. The couple then display the box in their home, as a reminder of the way they felt on their wedding day.
The Wedding Shoppe (www.theweddingshoppe.ca) (review on The Wedding Shoppe) sells a Love Letter Ceremony Kit (approximately $98), including a walnut veneer wine box and lock, a pair of wine goblets, stationery, ceremony instructions and a feather quill charm. The box can also be engraved with your names and wedding date for an extra charge.
