The Butchart Gardens Begin Their Wedding Season!
Beauty and Elegance in the Spring Prelude Garden....
We were so fortunate today to have a "sneak peak" of the Spring Prelude Garden opening January 15th at The Butchart Gardens! This officially begins The Butchart Gardens Wedding Season which lasts from January 15th to March 31st. We were so happy to have a personal tour with Graham, who is a font of knowledge regarding the Gardens, and Rick, who has all the answers about the design work that goes into the Spring Prelude Garden. We loved that the purpose of the Spring Prelude Garden is to dazzle through color, form, texture and fragrance. And that it takes only five days, on average, to create this Garden each year. Thank you for the wonderful tour!
Diana Claxton, who had invited us, is the new Event Coordinator at The Butchart Gardens. And what a wonderful choice! She is just the person that a bride and groom would want helping plan their special day. She hopes to encourage bridal couples of all cultural backgrounds to view The Butchart Gardens as a place that they can share their wedding traditions. Diana feels she is blessed to have the opportunity to help bridal couples through their special day. "It's so exciting to share the moments as a couple are passionate to spend their life together."
If you are a early spring bride, you really want to take a look at The Butchart Gardens. You can have a conservatory wedding in a world famous Garden, and your reception in the historic Butchart House. The Spring Prelude Garden is a creative marvel, with the indoor "rooms" mirroring the outdoor Gardens, with Asian and Woodland influences. We especially loved the ceremony area that has been built to allow the best photo opportunities. There are even spotlights built in to put the perfect light onto a couple as they say their vows. And, as always, cement is used for the pathways to hark back to the original use of The Butchart Gardens.
Of course, there are plenty of spring flowers to keep things fragrant and colorful! We were able to watch as some of the final touches were put into place. And we were reminded that this garden will change daily with new plants blooming and leafing daily. The glass ceilings were a real draw to the eye as the light poured into the Garden. And the koi will soon be swimming in their newly built home! Take a look through the Garden in the next few weeks and, hopefully, it will be a "sneak peak" into your own wedding!
