Our Resident Bride Speaks.....

My last blog post was a promise…so this post should possibly start with an apology? ;)

Of course when I committed to becoming more fit to prepare for my wedding, I made one huge rookie mistake:  I jumped in way too deep.  Going from zero to four workouts per week was an overambitious goal that I was sure to fail at (and oh, fail I did)! There is a more positive side to this story – after a few false starts, a heart to heart with my trainer, and some perseverance, I’m now at a totally sustainable 2 – 3 workouts per week. Honestly, there’s not a lot going on according to the scale, but with *fitness* my goal, that’s fine with me! I’m seeing incremental changes in my body’s ability to push and lift heavy things, and it’s really exciting!

In other news, my wedding is fast approaching! So here’s a little inventory of what I’m doing and my timeline. My wedding is now just nine months away (!) and I have a few things wrapped up. Location? Check. Food and beverage? Check. Decorating ideas and implementation? Check. Sounds like I’m half way there, right? That’s what I thought too….but then my very lovely and detail oriented recently-married-herself friend started asking me about photographers, invitations, cakes, flowers, and of course, the detail that is on everyone’s minds. The. Dress. Shoot – it seems as though I’m not as ahead of the game as I had thought!

I’ve delegated a few small tasks to my future hubby, such as coordinating the justice of the peace, and bottling the sparkling wine we had made at a local u-brew (30 bottles of limited edition bubbly!),  but it feel like I better get cracking. Off I go – stay tuned for an update next month!
