Submitting your wedding story to The Wedding Ring magazine, website and community
Recently, we were asked by brides in the chat boards if and how they can submit their wedding stories to the The Ring's magazine or website. The answer, of course, was a resounding yes! [Story shown at left was of Jessalyn & Robert's destination wedding, photographed by Captured Soul]
We LOVE receiving story submissions from local brides! :) Here's how to submit yours...
To have your wedding or planning story submitted to The Wedding Ring magazine or website, please email your story and photos to Senior Editor, Carla White at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Requirements for Wedding Story Submissions:
1. For print purposes, photos need to be in high resolution (300 dpi or higher). If these files are too big to send by email, disks can be submitted by mail.
2. Professional photos are preferred, especially for the magazine, however we welcome all images.
3. If you do submit professional photos, please make sure you've got their permission to have the images published.
4. Please include the full name, email address and website address of the photography company.
5. Several paragraphs about your wedding, what made it fabulous, what challenges you had, favourite memories...
Other (short) story submission options:
1. Engagement stories
2. Fun or unique wedding items you've hand-made or had custom designed for you - and the story the goes with them - ie. how you came up with the idea, how tricky or fun it was to pull off...
3. Wedding details - ie. the best bridal shoes ever, the ultimate glam hair piece, the colour scheme you chose for your table settings.
NOTE :: We can't guarantee that all stories will be used. Some stories may be used online, and other in the magazine. By submitting your story and photos, you are authorizing Wedding Ring Inc. to publish your story in whole or in part in any of our affiliated websites, print or video materials, promotional items or marketing. Your story may be edited for content, flow and tense. In many cases, we may contact you for further information before publishing your story.
Who can submit a story:
1. Brides who are members of The Wedding Ring.
2. Wedding experts who are reviewed in The Wedding Ring and who have written and/or contract permission from the couple's in their stories.
