Local bride shows how to tackle RSVPs and the seating chart with one easy trick

A tip from The Wedding Ring community

It's no secret that brides are busy, which is why time-saving tips can be priceless in crunch time. So when we saw this great technique (in The Ring community chat boards) for dealing with the hassle of RSVPs and seating charts, we had to share.

The tip was posted by a bride, Jude, showing how simple it is to create a seating chart draft that can be easily maneuvered as you go, and eliminates the writing, erasing, re-writing and general hassle that usually comes with doing a seating chart, while also taking care of your RSVPs at the same time!

This chat post shows that if you want some of the best ideas, sometimes you just need to go directly to the source - local brides...

Supplies

> Clothes pegs/pins - one for each guest and member of the wedding party
> Coasters - one for each table, can be found in most dollar stores, grocery stores or party supply stores
> 1 marker

How to

Pick up clothes pegs and drink coasters from the grocery, dollar or party supply store. In Jude's case, she "borrowed" round coasters from a nearby bar.

Set up a space/table/cork board with enough room for your floor plan (you can usually get a floor plan from your hall).

On your table/board, place one coaster for each table you'll have at your wedding.

As each of your RSVPs arrive in the mail, write the replying guest's name on a clothes pin. Then 'seat your guest at a table' by attaching the clothes pin to their table (coaster).

It's easy, quick, and flexible. If guests need to be rearranged, Jude just moves their clothes peg to another coster. "No erasing and rewriting... it saves so much stress... You can juggle people so much easier as they are all just a clip away."

Plus, if you have a table with the right people but it's located at the wrong spot on the reception hall floor, you just move the entire table (coaster). It's that easy!
