Jessica and Neil envisioned a lovely outdoor garden wedding, filled with their family and friends. They achieved this vision with a pastel colour palette and the help of the incredible team of decorators at Joie De Vivre Events and Decor (facebook.com/JDVeventsanddecor). Jessica says, “Our décor team made sure to fulfill all our wishes, lots of flowers and a beautiful willow arch way with flowers and butterflies…”

Bride & Groom: Jessica Sacco & Neil Smith

Wedding Date: June 17, 2017

Location: Credit Valley Golf and Country Club (creditvalleygolf.com) We chose the location for the beautiful outdoor space, we both love nature and it was our dream to have our wedding outside.

Colour Palette: Pastels

Flowers: Roses and Orchids – pinks whites blues and greens

Décor: Steven from Joie De Vivre Events and Decor (facebook.com/JDVeventsanddecor). The florist was Carmella, who is now retired.

Fav Décor Element: “Our Ceremony arch way…it was basically custom designed for us by Steven.”

DIY: “My mom and I did a lot of the hiring and spent hours on Pinterest. Spent a lot of time looking at bridal magazines for ideas and touring local bridal shows. My mom hand put together a poem with confetti candy for our guests on each table place. We also looked at a lot of other weddings to get a good idea for our ‘table scaping’ we chose all our centerpieces and layout of the table. With help from our décor team of course!”

Special Elements: “For our ceremony we incorporated our whole family as it was very special to us. My cousin Adrian Sacco who I am very close with, was our officiant for the day. I also hired a friend of mine Matt Zaddy who is a very talented musician. He sang and played the guitar throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour. During cocktail hour we had flare bartenders. We chose to hire them to help alleviate lineups at the bar and to entertain our guests. We also did a sparkler Send off! It was something I knew I wanted incorporated into our day!”

Photographer: Christina from Take one Photography (take1-photography.com) “We loved her portfolio of past weddings. Christina was fantastic and made an effort to capture every pose we wanted. Even though we didn’t get all our photos due to the weather during our reveal.”

Biggest Challenge: “For Neil and I, it was outside stress that really affected our wedding planning process. Due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances we were dealing with the loss of Neil’s Mother and his Father who had took ill just a few months before the wedding. I am so fortunate to have my mother and amazing closest friends and family who all stepped up and helped Neil and I in every way possible. I am grateful to these people because I believe that they are the ones who got us through the process.”

Favourite wedding memory:
“For me it was seeing Neil for the first time. We did a reveal and I remember how nervous and excited I was to see him for the first time. Seeing my husband standing there waiting for me made everything so real and solidified this is the man I will marry forever. Our vows were something really special as well. We wrote our own and hearing those words for the first time was very special for us and really sealed the deal.”

Advice from one bride to Another: “Really do try to enjoy every moment of the planning. The day goes by so quick and it really is a day you will always remember. If something does not go right on that day (and it probably will), remember it will show in your face in your photos which you will always have…so try not to sweat the small stuff and remember…your wedding is the day you are marring your best friend and lifelong partner and that should be magical enough.”
