Pine Knot offers picture-perfect setting and impeccable service

Pine Knot Golf and Country Club is for the bride and groom who love the idea of incorporating both nature and contemporary design into their wedding. It seems as if all things are possible here - from an outdoor ceremony aside a serene, beautifully landscaped pond accented with pine trees and stone-lined gardens to an indoor reception set within the large contemporary space of the Pine Knot Banquet Hall.

Located just minutes from the 401, Dorchester's Pine Knot seems to have earned its reputation and popularity through great service and the ability to tune into what today's local brides want in a wedding. Thanks to Operations Manager Rebekah Brounstein, staff at The Ring got our own inside peek at Pine Knot. This is what we found...

Designed with weddings in mind

When you arrive, the first thing you’ll notice is that this location is meant for weddings. In fact, when Pine Knot opened in 1992, it did so having been specifically designed as a full banquet facility in addition to a golf and country club. Pine Knot can host up to 200 guests for a seated dinner, with a multitude of options for your wedding ceremony, photos, reception, dinner and dance.

This is the where you go if you want options such as a ceremony aside a large pond in front of a picture-perfect array of stone and flowers... or have cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the raised outdoor terrace with loved ones as you look onto surrounding woods and rolling hills.

Nearby, the landscaped pond, flowers, arbour, and even a tiny beach create all kinds of lovely backdrops for your photos. Not surprisingly, Pine Knot is a hit with many local photographers for its seemingly unlimited photo ops.

Friendly, experienced staff

Pine Knot plays host to more than thirty weddings a year, and even so, doesn't seem to lose the hands-on approach to service that they are known for.

Rebekah Brounstein personally handles all the arrangements for brides-to-be and is a fabulous source of advice. She’ll help you to plan all the little details and see everything through. It's a job that she loves. "Sometimes I can become emotionally involved because I've worked so closely with the brides in the planning stages," Rebekah confesses.

On the big day itself, the Banquet Manager is always present to make sure everything goes smoothly. "We believe that there should be no need for a bride and groom to worry about last-minute hiccups," Rebekah told us. "Just relax and focus on having a wonderful time."

Bring your imagination

Rebekah will work with you to make your wedding exactly the way you've pictured it, whether it's a traditional event or something a little bit out of the ordinary. "Every single one is different," she says.

If you've got creative ideas, don't be afraid to ask. At one wedding, the bride and groom paddled a canoe across the pond to the ceremony site. Some couples have arrived in a horse and buggy, and an entire police force came to one reception in their kilts accompanied by bagpipes.

Banquet hall overlooking the greens

Pine Knot's banquet hall in the clubhouse is filled with natural light, thanks to wall-to-wall windows with amazing views over the greens. They open onto an enormous covered deck - the perfect spot for your guests to sip pre-dinner drinks or take a break from dancing later in the evening.

The room itself features oak pillars and an impressive twenty-five foot oak bar, and the taupe and cream décor is guaranteed to go with whatever look you have in mind.

A gift table, cake table and guest book tables are all included, and coat racks are available at entrance. The nearby washrooms are completely wheelchair accessible.

Outstanding food and service

When it comes to the food, you won’t be disappointed. "We are well known for outstanding food and service," says Rebekah. "We go above and beyond most brides' expectations."

Everyone has different tastes, so Pine Knot offers an impressive selection of dishes that are sure to make your mouth water.

Some of their most popular options for weddings include Chicken Supreme with Chablis and Peach Sauce, Roast Sirloin of Beef with Demi-Glaze, or Stuffed Pork Tenderloin with Apple Cranberry Sauce.

The staff will work with you to create a customized menu. Accommodating special dietary requirements is no problem. And for drinks, you can choose from a host bar, cash bar, ticket bar, or any combination of these.

The wait staff offer impeccable service and add a note of elegance in formal black and white uniforms.

Pricing and appointments

Rebekah approaches each wedding that comes her way with the intention of basing their services on your requirements. "Each wedding is tailored to your needs," Rebekah explains. "You choose what you would like from our extensive menu." If you would like a package customized just for you, Rebekah will work with you to make that happen.

Rebekah says that wedding receptions have ranged from $5,000 to $18,000, with a typical cost of $40 to $60 per person. That includes dinnerware, flatware, glassware, linens, serving staff, and bartenders, along with chair covers in your choice of white, ivory or black and floor-length table linens.

And what's more? When you book your reception at Pine Knot, there is no additional charge for holding your ceremony on site or taking photos.

To set up an appointment, just give Rebekah a call. After that, you’ll probably want to meet with her in person so that you can see the venue and discuss your options.

My cousin's wedding was held at Pine Knot and the entire event was fabulous from start to finish! The staff, food and facility were great and the event went off without a hitch. As a guest, I was very impressed and would definitely recommend the Pine Knot as a wedding location that is centrally located in Southwestern Ontario.
