Wedding favours come in all shapes and sizes but when you're the bride, you want to say thank you to your guests with items that will be appreciated, remembered and that ring true to the style of your day. From tree seedlings to personalized golf balls to funky little purse hooks, Weddingfavours.ca offers a selection of items and ideas for wedding and shower favours, bridal party gifts, invitations and themed bridal collections.

With a newsletter sharing their latest favour ideas, products and customization techniques - not to mention a welcomed personal touch to everything they do - Weddingfavours.ca is obviously much more than just an online store. And don't be fooled by the name, as Weddingfavours.ca offers much more than just favours. They work with many different suppliers to bring you their best selection of products including aisle runners, cake toppers, sand ceremony sets, décor items, and more – online and in their Ingersoll showroom. The best part? Orders ship from within Canada so you don't have to worry about exchange rates or pesky duty fees. With all of this already in mind, The Ring sat down with Christine Rozon, Owner and Operator of Weddingfavours.ca, to get the inside scoop on what else is in store for brides...

Personally speaking...

It was while Christine was planning her own wedding that she realized how difficult it was to choose wedding favours. She and her fiancé (now husband), Derek, wanted something that would be functional, personal and affordable. But, between minimal choices in local stores, and shipping issues with online stores, not to mention duty costs, credit card exchange rates, and waiting, Christine and Derek ended up making their own personalized favours. Doing this got Christine wondering how much easier it would be to order online if there was a large store with really good suppliers and no hassles, which prompted her to start her own business designed to help Canadian brides find the favours they wanted.

We, and brides alike, can tell that Christine truly loves what she does and is always interested in finding the “next big thing” for the Canadian wedding market. She enjoys the challenge of following and predicting trends and finding sources that can help her meet the needs and fulfill the dreams of the brides who shop on Weddingfavours.ca.

Since launching the user-friendly site in 2006, Weddingfavours.ca has helped over 7,000 brides from over thirty countries find accessories for their dream weddings. “We have shipped to all ten Canadian provinces and three Territories, and all fifty American States," Christine told The Ring. "We hear from people all over the world that our website is easy to use and enjoyable. Often brides tell us that they visit every day just to get ideas and plan what they want to purchase.”

Online and in-store…

Since business has grown a lot in the past five years and the website has expanded, Christine moved Weddingfavours.ca from her home into a retail location in Ingersoll that's in the same plaza as other wedding professionals, including Sew Stylish Wedding Works and Custom Concept Photography. “We are pleased to have increased foot traffic and more local customers," Christine says. "We offer a pick up option for customers who can make the trip to Ingersoll. This saves the shipping costs and allows customers to meet us in person and browse the showroom.”

While the website is available twenty-four hours a day, customers can also drop by the showroom from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and some Saturday mornings by chance or appointment.

Adding further to their local appeal is the fact that Weddingfavours.ca is truly a Canadian venture. They work with over forty different suppliers and they handle all of the hassles with customs, brokers and importing, which means you don't have to deal with potential border delays or additional duty fees at the door. All orders from Weddingfavours.ca are priced in Canadian funds and shipped from their Ingersoll location. "When you check out of the website, you know the total cost of the order. No surprises!"

On the technical side, Weddingfavours.ca is a secure website that is tested daily to make sure it stays that way. They also never use customer information for any purpose other than fulfilling an order. "Customers can order with confidence through Weddingfavours.ca" an assurance they like to give their customers as they know some people are apprehensive about the legitimacy of online stores.

An online store with personality

Weddingfavours.ca maintains regular office hours and has several Customer Service Agents available to answer phone inquiries and online chats during those hours. In addition, they're proud of their quick turn around time, telling us that voicemails and emails are checked and answered within one business day. “We are a company who prides itself on strong customer service," says Christine. "We often have customers who are surprised when we answer our phones and reply promptly to their emails. We are more accessible to our customers than many other online stores.”

This personal touch seems to work well for the team at Weddingfavours.ca as they often have return customers and referrals from past customers who boast of their products and services. "We always take this as a huge compliment when a customer tells a friend that they can be confident about shopping through us. We do our best to make every order run smoothly and work hard to keep customers informed and satisfied.”

A bride's wishlist…

In 2008, Weddingfavours.ca added a Wishlist option to the website as a tool for helping brides keep track of their ideas. "Often a bride will make a wishlist and then ask her bridesmaids to check out her list and make suggestions," the team explained. "This is a great way for a bride and her girlfriends to shop together even if they are living far apart." It can also be used as an easy to use bridal registry that can be searched by friends and family.

All prices, all styles, all unique

The items you'll find on Weddingfavours.ca are numerous to say the least. But more than that, they cross all price platforms and range from traditional to contemporary and funky to trendy. While Christine carries a lot of Canada's most popular suppliers to serve couples, shopping in this local online boutique also means finding items that you haven't seen many times before. Just when we thought we'd seen everything, staff at The Ring found countless ideas and products on Weddingfavours.ca that we'd never come across before.

What's in store...

Weddingfavours.ca specializes in wedding favours... and boy, are there a lot of them! From candles in the shape of wedding cakes to rose flower balls to hand-blown glass shell-shaped wine charms. If you want to say thank you to your guests for celebrating your wedding day with you, there is no shortage of inspiring ways to do so here.

And yet, despite the name, Weddingfavours.ca also offers a large list of additional must-have wedding items, such as garters and handbags for the bride, ring pillows, sand ceremony sets, gift sets for bridesmaids, table décor, centrepieces, and much more. A variety of the items can be personalized with either monograms or entire messages as well.

Invitations in person

On top of favours, gifts and décor items, Weddingfavours.ca also offers over a dozen albums of invitation choices from a variety of suppliers. They told us that every style, size and price point is available. Plus, since Christine knows that postal restrictions, etiquette, budget and wording are enough to frazzle even the most organized of brides, she's there to help you choose the invitation that best suits your needs, as well as walk you through the process.

“It can be an overwhelming process but we are here to help.” You can stop in at their showroom to browse the albums and they'll start a customer record for you, where they encourage brides to write down all of the invitations they like. "Then, we start narrowing it down.” Once the invitation choice has been made, couples can make an appointment to meet with a specialist to hammer out the finer details.

The process…

With Weddingfavours.ca, all items are in Canadian currency and can be ordered online with a credit card, by phone if you have questions or aren't sure of your product choices, or in person, by appointment. There are three customer Service Reps available for you (including Christine) and each one is able to handle customer inquiries.

Each item has its own processing and shipping time, which is listed when you place your order. Plus, adding to their fantastic customer service, if for some reason your order won't arrive on time, Weddingfavours.ca won't leave you hanging – they'll notify you and do their best to fix the issue.

A few fabulous wedding trends and ideas by Weddingfavours.ca...

Though it's been a few years since Christine first noticed that the Sand Ceremony is an attractive and lasting alternative to the unity candle, she continues to source out several styles of glass vase sets to add to the website. “It took a while for customers to warm up to the idea but since then it has exploded in popularity,” Christine told us. "It's a meaningful way to personalize your vows and a great way to include children or other family members… it also becomes a meaningful keepsake to be displayed in the home for many years."

In Weddingfavours.ca's continual effort to make sure all of their customers are happy, Christine went in search of a supplier who creates sand that's available in dozens of colours when she noticed brides wanting colours that weren't initially available.

Now, Weddingfavours.ca stocks sixty-seven vibrant sand colours! “We try to keep all colours in stock at all times so that customers can stop in and look at samples and purchase them on the spot.”
