NJS Design & Party Rentals has spent the past ten years earning their way into the hearts of brides in Huron, Perth, Grey and Bruce Counties and beyond.. Offering everything from invitations and favours to ceiling canopies, centerpieces and chair covers, this is one shop that's difficult to leave.

Operating from a location just north of Clinton, owner and Certified Event Rental Professional, Nancy Snell, makes it her cause to dress up wedding days with style, service, competitive pricing, lots of options, and plenty of personality. We sat down with Nancy to find out what she had in store for brides in The Ring. Here's what we found...

Personally speaking...

Nancy Snell opened the doors to NJS Design & Party Rentals in 1997 with 800 square feet of space and a focus on graphic design and web development. Within the first two years, Nancy found her design side taking her in another artistic direction - wedding invitations, accessories and favours. "Then customers started asking for more wedding supplies such as wine glasses, table cloths, linens, backdrops, centerpieces..." Today, Nancy works out of 2800 square feet of space, almost entirely to wedding décor and rentals and with an inventory that is continuously growing.

In December 2007, Nancy became a Certified Event Rental Professional (CERP). It was important to Nancy to earn her certification, "The CERP program is the only certification program specifically created for those in the party and event rental industry. It is an in-depth program for individuals who seek an edge - the program features specific course content in eight disciplines. The certification process is more than just an educational and training program." Nancy says that CERP sets the standard for professionalism and expertise in the industry.

What a bride wants

NJS offers wedding rentals and décor for brides in Midwestern Ontario. With an inventory that could be described as ranging from simple, elegant and classic to contemporary and fresh in nature, NJS certainly has the options, styles and inventory that so many of today's brides are looking for.

Just to touch on some of the items that you can find here, NJS rents table linens, overlays and runners, napkins, dinnerware, cutlery, stemware, backdrops, ceiling décor, chair covers, pillars, arches, centerpieces, guestbooks, garters, cake toppers, cake cutting and serving sets, invitations, candles, and even entirely themed props such as tropical palm & bamboo trees.

Lindsay Walsh was planning her July 5th 2008 wedding when staff at The Ring spoke to her. She said she chose NJS for her wedding décor because of the huge selection of options available, "They had everything from napkin rings all the way up to backdrops." Lindsay particularly loved the choices of vases, candle holders and linens for the décor of her reception tables. "They offered way more selection that most competitors..."

The personal touch

Nancy feels that it's the personal customer service that truly makes a business successful. She works from a storefront that is actually located on her beautiful farm property (on Highway 4 just north of Clinton). "I try to fill every order as best as I can... I want to help you create a beautiful wedding day and so I'll do absolutely anything I can to make sure that you get what you're looking for," explains Nancy. Lindsay said Nancy was always very obliging and flexible, "When I call her for tweaks to my order, she is more than happy to do so." For some events, this can mean calling every supplier and person Nancy knows, just to make sure she has exhausted all resources available to get that one particular request met. August 2007 bride Angela Cantelon found her napkins, linens and candles at NJS. "I found Nancy and her team great to work with... The decorating options were up to date and there was lots of variety."

In store, Nancy has most of her items on display for you to look at. So even though the NJS website is incredibly detailed and user-friendly, showing off almost their entire inventory, you can also see the items brought to life when you visit in person.

Nancy's personality is fun loving and open. She's up for anything that's different or unique and when you work with her, it's easy to find yourself having a few laughs together as you design your wedding. Her passion for this business shows in her work - which she admits is the result of being 110% customer service oriented.

Trends :: from funky to formal

From the day she opened NJS Design, it has been Nancy's creative thinking and eye for design that has set the tone and direction of the company. She is known in her community for coming up with unique ideas and knowing what all the latest trends are. She has helped create funky, colourful weddings and more traditional, elegant ones. She says that the wedding's atmosphere isn't necessarily about an over-the-top theme or budget. It's about style. "It could be just a simple wedding with not too much colour. As long as the colour is used the right way, it will be beautiful!"

Nancy welcomes brides and grooms to the design table as well, reminding them that she'll try to make any creations they come up with happen for them. "I love trying something new!"

Just another part of the package

Nancy told staff at The Ring that weddings with NJS Design means being able to count on the details that can sometimes make or break the stress-level of a bride on her wedding day. For example, Nancy stresses that delivery and pick-up is always done on time. They can take care of set-up and tear down. NJS holds regular business hours as well as after-hours appointments by request. All consultations are free and if sourcing a supplier is required, Nancy's happy to do so. She considers herself an open book and welcomes all ideas and requests.

NJS offers competitive pricing that fits into many budgets, making it even easier to love this great company. To give you an idea of what to expect, a Centrepiece Package starts at $9 per table and a Backdrop & Head Table Package starts at $425. There's no pressure to book, but we do recommend planning six to twelve months ahead to help ensure that you can get NJS designing for your wedding date.

• In order to get NJS for your wedding décor and accessories, try to book them 6 to 12 months ahead of your wedding day.
• A down payment of your total rental cost is due at booking. You will be able to determine your total rental cost during a consultation with Nancy.
• Your balance is due the week before the wedding day.
• The NJS prices are subject to applicable taxes.
