It's not easy being the mother of the bride or the mother of the groom. For such a big event, Mom wants to look good but doesn't want to steal the spotlight from her 'baby'. We loved the team at Bridal Elegance because they devote a good portion of their time to giving Mom the attention she needs in order to 'suit up in style' for her son or daughter's wedding. While we were interviewing Wilma and Tara of Bridal Elegance, we were surprised by the wide selection of mother of the bride (and groom) gowns.
One problem...
When asked about it, Wilma admits to having gone a little overboard. "But then I’ve been the mother of the bride. So I know how hard it can be to find the right dress for the occasion. When I was looking at dresses for myself, all the styles that I found were matronly. I could imagine my mother wearing them, but not me. I’m not old enough to wear some of those styles!"
One solution...
So to combat this problem, and because Bridal Elegance prides themselves on being able to dress the entire wedding party (the female half anyway), Wilma went on a shopping spree. She found the most elegant, tasteful, youthful and stylish mother of the bride dresses available. Then she stocked them all.
You’ll find a selection of dresses from designers such as Oblique, Avanti, Jade by Jasmine and more. Prices start at $179 and up. But they didn’t stop there. They also carry a full line of accessories to complement any of the dresses, not just the bridal gowns. A mother can find everything she needs to complete her wedding day ensemble: shoes, jewellery and even bags.

Tara explains how they're helping mom's to arrive in style on the wedding day... "We are carrying some great new, fun and funky separates from Cartise. They are great because they allow you to mix and match any style top you like with skirts or Palazzo pants - very versatile!"

• Regular business hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, Saturdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• They can do, and recommend, after-hours appointments for one-on-one service and no limitations.
• Wilma recommends visiting approximately six months before the wedding to ensure everything will arrive and be ready on time.
