Grey Silo Golf Club
Situated along the shores of the Grand River, the Grey Silo golf course has deservedly earned the reputation of being one of the most sought after premium locations at which to hold your wedding event in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. The Parkhouse facility offers a unique combination of a rustic post and beam interior setting, flooded with natural daylight, all framed against the backdrop created by the emerald grandeur of the golf course. All of these elements work, in turn, to deliver a unique experience – the beauty of nature and the first-class amenities and ambience of the room proper – one not to be soon forgotten by all in attendance!
Kim Reinhardt, Hospitality Manager at Grey Silo, possesses a wealth of experience and works diligently with all of her clients in helping them plan their wedding day. Kim strives to put everyone at ease on a day that passes by quickly. Her attention to detail allows everyone involved to relax and enjoy the day while she and her staff take care of the myriad of details necessary to make this most important of days a complete success!
Details & need-to-knows…
• The Timber Room: This, the main hall at Grey Silo, features a high vaulted ceiling supported by massive wooden posts and beams, anchored at one end of the room by a large oak bar and at the other, a magnificent fieldstone gas fireplace. This, the ideal setting for either your on-site ceremony or after service reception and dinner, or potentially both, can accommodate a maximum of 130 people.
. In addition to the Timber Room, all guests have access to a wrap-around deck that opens off of the room. Perched high above the golf course, this deck provides the perfect place to momentarily escape for a quiet moment, cocktail, or friendly conversation during the after-event reception.
. All of your food needs are prepared directly on site at Grey Silo under the watchful supervision of our Executive Chef. The culinary crew can, with advance notice, accommodate any dietary needs and allergy alerts that may arise.
. Grey Silo offers a wide array of budget-conscious options for the wedding planner, with prices beginning at $32 per person. A $500 non-refundable deposit and signed contract is required to secure your wedding date, followed thereafter with two additional payments of $1000, one six months prior to your event and the other due three months prior to the wedding. These payments are, in turn, put toward your final invoice generated the day of your wedding.
. Grey Silo is pleased to be able to offer all of these wedding amenities year-round, although the summer months, not unexpectedly, prove to repeatedly be the busiest season for these events. At the time this review was constructed, Grey Silo was already booking up for the 2012 calendar year and there are, unfortunately, no Saturday dates available in either May or June of 2012. Indeed, booking inquiries and holds on dates have extended themselves into 2013! So, if you have a specific date in mind, it is advisable to book as soon as you can!

Conestoga Golf Club
Located along the Grand River, Conestoga easily has some of the most picturesque scenery anywhere in the province. But beauty isn't everything. Many brides love that Conestoga has indoor and outdoor space options such as the solarium and the patio, big guest lists, an on-site Executive Chef, rehearsal dinner options, and an Events Coordinator, Ashley Congi, who’s at your side throughout the wedding planning.
Many couples host their ceremony here – outdoor ceremonies being the most popular. Up to 300 guests can be seated outside on beautiful green space or on one of Conestoga’s patios. If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate on your wedding day, your ceremony can be moved indoors up to a couple of hours before your vows (you just want to make sure staff has time to reset indoors). Indoor ceremonies take place in Conestoga’s Solarium, which can seat up to 100 guests.
Laurie and Kirk really liked the idea of having an outdoor wedding on the patio with a back-up indoor location in case of bad weather, which is one of the reasons they chose Conestoga Country Club. “We also liked the fact that a trained chef was on-site, and a golf course [was available] for photos,” says Laurie’s mom, Irene.
When it comes to hosting full-blown receptions, the Club Room, located on the main floor, holds from forty up to 160 guests comfortably. This room is known for its natural wood detailing, making it feel cozy and warm. The room also has an adjacent solarium, which is perfect for a cocktail reception, or a place where guests can take a break from the music and dancing to enjoy a quiet space with a great view of the golf course. There are also two generous patio areas for your guests to enjoy an up-close view of the natural beauty that the course has to offer.
“The room was warm and comfortable with lots of wood, neutral colours and a dance floor,” agrees Irene. “Not to forget the fabulous view of the course and rolling hills, and the additional space with the glassed in veranda.”
The patio can host cocktail hour before dinner, with a portable bar set-up and hors d'oeuvres served to your guests. There are two levels and they both feature wrought iron railings and overlook the Grand River and golf course scenery.
The spacious Waterloo Room can accommodate events ranging in size from 50 to 450 guests. The room can be sub-divided to provide a more intimate space for smaller parties. The room has an outstanding amount of natural light and neutral décor to allow for any level of décor ranging from classically simplistic to modern and chic design. This space also an upper level solarium to provide a stunning view of the course & The Grand River.
Not only can you have your ceremony and reception in one place at the Conestoga Country Club, but you can also opt to stay at the club for your photo session, where there are a number of locations that they recommend on-site.

Paris Grand Country Club
Brides and grooms from the Paris, Ayr, Brantford and K-W area are known to choose the Paris Grand Country Club for its fabulous setting, options and prices. With the all-inclusive package at The Paris Grand Country Club you can wed, take photos, eat, dance, and even sleep over all in the same location near the picturesque Grand River in Paris, Ontario.
Paris Grand has been a GolfNorth property for six years, but they have been serving Paris brides for countless years before that. Caitlyn, the Event Coordinator, has been involved with over 100 weddings in this period of time, and is your primary contact for hosting your wedding here.
The Oak Hall, which holds 160 people with no dance floor (until you clear the tables when you're ready to boogie), has floor to ceiling windows across three of the four walls, including one behind the head table making a naturally stunning backdrop. "The hall is as beautiful as it is and doesn't need a lot of décor."
If you rent the Oak Hall you also receive exclusive use of the patio off the ballroom where smoking is allowed, and your guests can relax in the lounge between the ceremony and the reception as they’re served hors d'oeuvres off of silver trays by a professional wedding staff.
The Paris Grand also has a second building on their property. The Riverhouse Inn overlooks the Grand River and has seven bedrooms (sleeping fourteen people), eight washrooms, large living rooms, dining rooms, and an upper level deck and lower level patio. It can be booked for small weddings of about forty to fifty people comfortably, and up to eighty people maximum. Brides and grooms have also rented it out for their guests to stay at, or as their honeymoon suite.
You can bring in outside catering to the Riverhouse Inn (which you can't at the Oak Hall) as well as run your own bar, and rent a bartender from the Paris Grand.
Erin and Aaron were married in the Bahamas and had their intimate wedding reception at the Riverhouse Inn and thought that the facilities were great. One of the main reasons they chose the Riverhouse Inn was for the option of having the venue indoors and out. "We couldn't find anywhere else that offered an entire house that we could rent, party in and sleep over in. It was great as a lot of our guests were from out of town and it was free accommodation for them instead of having to pay for hotel rooms."
At Paris Grand, pretty much everything can be taken care of for you all in one location. From $33.95 – $49.95 per person, you can choose from three amazing packages they have carefully developed to help you plan your dinner service with ease. All packages are sure to be an amazing culinary experience for you and your guests. Prepared fresh in house by our Executive Chef and served buffet or plated style by our professional service staff.
